Series: Demonica #3.5
Published by Larissa Ione on January 20th 2011
Genres: Paranormal Romance
Pages: 44 pages
This story originally appeared in The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2, but has bee expanded for it digital release.
*Author Note: This story takes place in the Demonia world, but is independent from the series and contains new characters. I place it in the timeline somewhere after book 3 only because of the vague mention of happenings from the first 3 books.
Demon slayer Andrea Cole has always taken down the demons and vampires she hunts without mercy. But when a fellow slayer is captured and turned into a vampire by a sadistic monster, she must choose between loyalty to her family and the man she loves.
Kaden Quinn has dedicated his life to slaying vampires, so when he is turned into one, his greatest nightmare comes to life. And when the woman he loves is thrown into a dungeon with him - as food - he must battle new instincts and old desires, and choose between his life, and hers.
If you are a fan of the Demonica series this is a great little side story. It’s about two Guardians that work together and have fallen in love with one another. Things go wrong on an assignment and Kaden gets turned to a vamp and the couple has to deal with his new status in the underworld.
We get to see a little of Tayla (she is leading female in Please Unbound, 1st book in the Demonica series) when Andrea and Kaden goes to her for help.
This is a short but action and passion packed story from Larissa Ione.
I highly recommend it to anyone that is having Demonica withdrawals like me since the series has ended.
After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.
While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
