Jessica McClain was born the only female in an all male race. The only problem is-she's no wolf. Called a curse, a witch and the Daughter of Evil by the superstitious wolves, Jessica decides to fight for her freedom, at age nineteen, the only way she can-in the ring.

When she's brutally attacked right after her fight, is it enough to finally earn her freedom off Compound, or will she be forced to endure the hatred even longer . . .

Blooded reads more like a really long prologue that makes you salivating for chapter one.

Amanda Carlson hits you with a stunning amount of greatness in a small amount of pages; with great world and character building.

Most prequels you can get away without reading going into a series but I highly recommend starting with Blooded. It gives you an understanding of the hell that Jessica grew up in by being the only female born to a wolf. She had to fight for her life; she might not be a werewolf but she can hold her own and if you miss reading the novella you will be rob going into Full Blooded.

About Amanda Carlson

Amanda is a Minnesota girl, born and bred. She started writing stories about teenage girls and their social missteps while in high school. She’s been writing for over ten years, but began writing fiction in earnest after her second child was born.

Her books are face-paced, filled with action and adventure. Her Jessica McClain urban fantasy series is published by ORBIT US & UK, a Hachette book imprint. Her Sin City Collectors series is her foray into paranormal romance, and they are hot and action packed. She lives in Minneapolis, with her husband and three kids.

I coexist with my husband of 15 years, our 11-year-old son and two chilled cats in the Deep South.

After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.

While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).

  1. I love Jessica way more then Faythe. lol I have seen it compared to the Shifter series before, but I have to say being in Jessica’s head was better then being in Faythes. That girl drove me crazy.

Anyways great review, glad you enjoyed.

  2. Ooh wow, you gave 5 starts to Blooded too! Awesome! Amanda Carlson will make a werewolf lover out of you yet! 😉 So happy to hear that you enjoyed these books as much as I did.
