Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

Drew Evans has everything…successful career, gorgeous looks and all the women he doesn’t have to seduce. He’s been spoiled by his family and has never been in a committed relationship and isn’t looking for one. In walks Katherine Brooks and his life is about to change forever. She’s smart, talented and, oh, yes, engaged.

This story is CRAZY good! Told from Drew’s point of view, we begin with him during his full “player” status and follow him as he unwittingly falls into love with Katherine and bungles it terribly. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator nails the character and makes him seem as if he’s in the same room with you, telling his story with wit, sarcasm and humor. There are lots of laugh-out-loud moments and the sex just rocks.

I highly recommend you listen to the book if at all possible. I received an audiobook ARC from the publisher and had only the first half of the book download in error. It’s so good that I couldn’t wait for them to resolve the issue and decided to get the book on my own. I’m sure the print or eBook version is good, too, but I had Drew’s voice in my head and wanted him to finish telling me his story personally. It really was like I was listening across from a table over cocktails. This was fun.

I LOVE reading and am just crazy about so many series and writers. I’m open to exploring new authors and genres and appreciate those who not only write well but can deliciously craft a character and a tale. Your suggestions for new authors and titles are very much welcomed.

I also love to talk about books. There’s nothing more exciting than to finish a great story and cover it A to Z with other people, exploring different perspectives and points of view. So, if you see something on my shelf you’d like to talk about, send me a message and we’ll talk!

  1. Well now I need to get this on audio if the voice is good. A lot of times I don’t think male narrator voices are done right so I’m now interested in this one.

    Thanks for the great review!

  2. This book has been on my wishlist for I don’t know how long. I’m always a little wary of books told completely from the man’s point of view, although I am not sure why since I have no problem with shared POV books. Will definitely be picking this one up, hopefully through WhysperSync!
