Miko's denied her were-fox nature for far too long and turned her back on her vixen heritage. But when she meets two very sexy cat-shifters, she has to decide if she truly wants to give up on her frisky side, or embrace it. Because the were-fox in her doesn't want to choose between both men...it wants them both.
This story was originally published in the anthology Wild & Steamy.
Basically if a were-fox is around males (of any kind) they have needs that need to be meant… in the bedroom. But if they aren’t around males those needs stay in check. So Miko lives a life of solitude, something that goes against her were-fox nature.
Miko’s overprotective mother decides that she needs a little help and sends two sexy feline shifters to her front door to be her bodyguards. Miko is confused at first until she finds out that local hunters are hunting foxes (nature and were).
Sam and Jeremiah, Miko’s two feline bodyguards are best friends and they are used to sharing things. And if Miko is up for it, she will be the next thing they share.
Speed Dating by Jessica Sims Estrella may be going into heat, but she’s determined to remain in control. Just because she’s ovulating doesn’t mean she has to settle for just any man (or his beast). Her sexy alpha’s determined to find her a tiger to take care of her heat and father her child…but no one seems to look quite as good as the man in charge. Will giving in to her need for her alpha ruin her tenuous relationship with her clan or be a match made in heaven? This novella originally appeared in the anthology Fire & Frost.

Will giving in to her need for her alpha ruin her tenuous relationship with her clan or be a match made in heaven?
This novella originally appeared in the anthology Fire & Frost.
Estrella is a liger (lion & tiger mix) and she doesn’t feel like she fights in with the local tiger clan even though she’s a part of it. It’s common knowledge (among weres not humans) that mix-breeds are sterile. So Estrella has never had to deal with the heat that a feline were goes through. Until now.
Since Estrella though herself sterile she never thought about having children but with her heat coming on she wants a child but doesn’t know who to turn to. After going through a speed mating (much like a speed dating event) she her hopes for a suitable male is even lower. She keeps having thoughts about Vic, the tiger alpha of her adoptive clan. But he’s not looking for a mate and she can’t flirt with the alpha. What if he’s not interested and she has done deal with it.
Vic does all he can to help Estrella find a suitable male to help her with her heat. But could he be overlooking the perfect male for Estrella within himself?
Both Vixen and Speed Mating around less than 50 pages but Jessica Sims manages to cram in great characters and romance. Fans of the Midnight Liaisons series will enjoy these shorts. And Paranormal Romance readers looking for a fast and sexy were read will enjoy them as well. Sims has them listed to read between book 2 (DESPERATELY SEEKING SHAPESHIFTER) and 3 (MUST LOVE FANGS) with another longer novella (SINGLE WOLF FEMALE) in the mix but you could read both stories before ever picking up book 1 (BEAUTY DATES THE BEAST).
After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.
While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
