Part 3 of Deceptive Innocence—the first book in the sensual, thrilling Pure Sin trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Kyra Davis (Just One Night). A beautiful young woman is out for revenge—only to find the man she’s targeting has secrets as dangerous as her own, and a passion she cannot resist.

Ever since her mother died while serving time for a murder she didn’t commit, Bellhas been focused on one thing: revenge. She knows her mother was set up by the head of the powerful Gable family, international bankers who will crush anyone for profit, or amusement. Now she’s determined to take the Gables down—from the inside.

Seducing her way into the life—and bed—of the family's rebellious youngest son, Lander, she figures it should be easy to uncover the secrets she needs to destroy the Gables. But Lander turns out to be much more complicated than Bell ever could have imagined. He’s enticing, intelligent, mysterious—and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Lander is still the target, but when he touches her, he starts seeming much less like an enemy…

Which is why her anger is so necessary: memories of her mother must help fuel her quest for justice to the very end.

In this final installment, Bell finds herself with conflicting emotions about Lander Gable, even though she still believes he was somewhat complicit in his family’s framing of her mother. Her dealings with his brother, Travis, who she works for, are dicey and dangerous. Her Russian Mafia “friend” also enters the picture, posing a serious threat to her plan for revenge.

When Bell originally set her plans in motion, things were pretty clear cut…her targets, her conviction of their guilt, her zeal in following through. Now that she’s in the mix of the Gable family, the situation is much more complicated and Bell’s emotions are all over the place about Lander.

I haven’t really liked Bell until this installment. For the first time, that hard veneer she’s worn began to crumble. Her ability to be dispassionate about Lander was severely challenged and for the first time in her life she’s experienced empathy. By the end of the story, I found my feelings had shifted towards her and I’m now invested in the outcome of this mystery and diabolical plan.

Now that the serial is over, I’m looking forward to the next full length book in the series because the plot and mystery is certainly not over, even though things are much clearer. I’m not a fan of serial installments but this one was exceptionally well written and structured.

About Kyra Davis

I’m the internationally published author of the Sophie Katz mystery series, and So Much For My Happy Ending. My first Erotic Fiction Trilogy will be released in January 2013. Aside from that, I’m a single mom; I’m addicted to coffee and True Blood (the show, not the drink). I’m happy with who I am yet I’m always striving to be better; I have more bad hair days than good ones, I love a challenge but I am not fearless, I’m….well…just me.

I LOVE reading and am just crazy about so many series and writers. I’m open to exploring new authors and genres and appreciate those who not only write well but can deliciously craft a character and a tale. Your suggestions for new authors and titles are very much welcomed.

I also love to talk about books. There’s nothing more exciting than to finish a great story and cover it A to Z with other people, exploring different perspectives and points of view. So, if you see something on my shelf you’d like to talk about, send me a message and we’ll talk!

  1. I loved Just One Night, her style of writing erotica is right up my alley, it’s both physical and psychological. Sometimes these characters blow my mind, I don’t understand why they do the shit they do. But KDavis sheds light on that very gray area. I will be giving part 1 a try soon!

    • And I swear this is my last one:) It was really, really good because each had a meaty storyline. They’re connected and the story arc continues but there was something new in each. It was almost like three novellas.
