But when her sister winds up engaged after a whirlwind courtship, Sidney is thrown into close contact with exactly the kind of sexy playboy she wants to avoid—the gorgeous best man. She's stuck with him, for better or worse, until her sister walks down the aisle, but that doesn't mean she has to give in to his smooth advances, no matter how tempting they are...

Special Agent Vaughn Roberts always gets his man on the job and his woman in bed. So Sidney's refusal to fall for his charms only makes him more determined to win over the cool and confident redhead. Only what starts out as a battle of wills ends up as a serious play for her heart. Because the one woman who refuses to be caught may be the only one Vaughn can't live without.

First Thought
It Happened One Wedding is my first Julie James novel and after finishing I MUST go back and listen to the other books in the series.
Why I started with #5

I’m very OCD about reading a series in order. So WHY did I start with book 5 in the FBI/US Attorney?! I received a box of audio books I requested from Tantor for review and there was a copy of It Happened One Wedding in the box in the place of one I requested. It was a happy mistake. I have the audio of book 1, Something About You on my iPhone but I knew I would not have time to listen to the whole series before I could listen to Happened. So I asked a few people that was reading Happened on Goodreads if I could listen to it without listening to the others. I was told yes that each book works as a stand alone. So I figured I’d break my rule of reading out of order.

Why the A+ rating

I LOVED everything about this book. The characters were very likable. The plot was fun. The romance was swoon worthy and believable.

A sweet, fun and sexy romance between a “man whore” and a jaded leading lady. I love it when the guy gets sucked in by the leading lady and he no longer notices it when other women are flirting with him.

The whole set up was great. I won’t give you all the details or I’ll ruin the plot for you. But what I can tell you is that first impressions aren’t always great. And Sidney make Vaughn work for it. LOL

Narration

Karen White delivered a great performance. I do believe I’ve found another author/narrator team to add to my auto buy list.

Will I continue the series?

YES! I have books 1 & 2 already downloaded for my listening pleasure.

I coexist with my husband of 15 years, our 11-year-old son and two chilled cats in the Deep South.

After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.

While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
