Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

There was little doubt that I would enjoy BURN FOR ME. Why? Let me count the reasons.

1. Ilona Andrews wrote it.

Team of Ilona and Gordon Andrews writes some of the best Urban Fantasy out there! Their writing is imaginative with complex world building, strong heroines and yummy alpha males. And just plain fun to get lost in.

2. Renée Raudman is the narrator.

Renée narrates all of Andrews’ books (so far) and she’s the reason I didn’t read the eARC. I had to wait for the audio. Renée is the cherry on top of the hot, gooey goodness that is Andrews’ writing.

3. Great Characters

Like I said above, the heroines and heroes are always fun within an Ilona Andrews’ world. But they don’t stop there, the secondary characters are just as great. And BURN FOR ME is no different. Two that really stick out was Nevada’s Grandma and mother. These are two funny women.

 4. See #1

Ilona Andrews is on the top of my auto buy authors. They could write an instruction manual for how to put together a vacuum cleaner and I’d buy and read it.

BURN FOR ME is an excellent start to the Hidden Legacy series and I can’t wait for book 2!

About Ilona Andrews

“Ilona Andrews” is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.)

Gordon and Ilona currently reside in Texas with their two children and many dogs and cats.

They have co-authored two NYT and USAT bestselling series, the urban fantasy of Kate Daniels and romantic urban fantasy of The Edge and working on the next volumes for both.

I coexist with my husband of 15 years, our 11-year-old son and two chilled cats in the Deep South.

After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.

While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).

  1. Jen I received a physical copy for review and loved, loved, loved this. Now I have the audiobook as well. I am currently listening to the Kate Daniels series I am on Magic Strikes!

    • Renee is awesome. But I find that I can’t listen to Andrews’ series back to back because I get the characters mixed up since Renee narrates all of them. LOL So I break them up with other books in between them. I need to go back to their Edge series.

  2. Wasn’t this awesome? Red Hot books told me this back in May, but I waited, like you did for the audio…We are smart girls…LOL Coz Raudman nailed it!

  3. I had a paperback ARC and I devoured it. I *loved* this story so much! It was my first experience with Ilona Andrews, but it definitely won’t be my last. I really want to listen to the audiobook now.

  4. I liked Bug. He was the secondary character that really jumped out at me. I also really enjoyed Grandma and Mom, but Bug did it for me. I think in part was Raudman’s narration of him when he started talking so fast that all the words ran together. How does she do that? This is one of the best audiobook teams in the UF business.

  5. I’m reading this one right now and I’m loving it. I have no idea how I’m gonna have to wait yet again for another Ilona Andrews books. They need to keep writing more and more. =))))
