Once, Miranda felt a little exposed…

Miranda Hill can’t believe her eyes—her cocky ex-boyfriend, pro hockey player Dane Croft, is back in Bluebonnet, Texas, after all these years. He ditched her – and their little town – just as some rather shocking photos showed up on the Internet for everyone to see. Miranda wasn’t so lucky. Stuck in Bluebonnet and left to fend for herself, she’s never really shaken the scandal – or his betrayal. After nine long years, Dane's back, and she has the chance to turn the tables on him…

It’s time she gets even.

Former NHL hotshot playboy Dane Croft has returned home to open a survival training school on an old ranch and reinvent himself. When his former high-school girlfriend enrolls in the program, he has no idea that Miranda’s plan is to get him in a compromising position—not the one he’s imagining, anyway. But soon Miranda realizes that to carry out her deviously sexy revenge, she’ll have to get up close and personal with Dane all over again. Being a good girl got her nowhere for nine years; now it’s time to be a little naughty. But falling in love with the man that broke her heart was never part of the plan…

WOW This is not the fun light listen I thought it would be. It was much dirtier. I can see why this series is labeled Erotic Contemporary Romance on Jessica Clare’s website.

When some people see Erotic they think the book will have kinks in it or BDSM. That’s not true. I think of Erotic as a romance that has often and detailed sex scenes. That’s what THE GIRL’S GUIDE TO (MAN) HUNTING is. There’s a lot of detailed sex scenes. Which I generally like but I found there was more sex than plot.

Miranda and Dane is sexing it all up in the woods for about a week. I found myself speeding up the audiobook through a few of the sex scenes. Speaking of the narration, Jillian Macie’s voice is… perky and sassy. Which is how I pictured Miranda being so I think her voice worked for this heroine. I’ll see if she works well for the next couple.

While THE GIRL’S GUIDE TO (MAN) HUNTING was not a total hit for me, I was entertained enough by the side characters that I want to see how Beth Ann and Colt’s story plays out in THE CARE AND FEEDING OF AN ALPHA MALE.

Sexual Content: Often and Explicit sex

This was my least favorite book in the series. But know that I really enjoyed the others. Stay tuned on Saturdays to see reviews on the other books.

About Jessica Clare

Jessica Clare is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author who writes under three different names. As Jill Myles, she writes a little bit of everything, from sexy, comedic urban fantasy to zombie fairy tales. As Jessica Clare, she writes erotic contemporary romance.

She also has a third pen name (because why stop at two?). As Jessica Sims, she writes fun, sexy shifter paranormals. She lives in Texas with her husband, cats, and too many dust-bunnies. Jill spends her time writing, reading, writing, playing video games, and doing even more writing.

My name is Jennifer (not Jen!) and I live in the South. I coexist with my husband of 15 years, our 11-year-old son and two cats. I'm finishing my BA in English this Spring (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not touch anything labeled "classic" but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my courses. While I hated to read growing up I am now avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction with my favorite (at least to date) genres include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly paranormal from authors I read in the adult genre but I'm explaining after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in my college courses).
