five-stars

Return to national bestselling author Devon Monk's heartpounding House Immortal series, where eleven powerful Houses control the world and all its resources. But now, the treaty between them has been broken, and no one—not even the immortal galvanized—is safe....

Matilda Case isn’t normal. Normal people aren’t stitched together, inhumanly strong, and ageless, as she and the other galvanized are. Normal people’s bodies don’t hold the secret to immortality—something the powerful Houses will kill to possess. And normal people don’t know that they’re going to die in a few days.

Matilda’s fight to protect the people she loves triggered a chaotic war between the Houses and shattered the world’s peace. On the run, she must find a way to stop the repeat of the ancient time experiment that gifted her and the other galvanized with immortality. Because this time, it will destroy her and everything she holds dear.

Caught in a cat-and-mouse game of lies, betrayal, and unseen foes, Matilda must fight to save the world from utter destruction. But time itself is her enemy, and every second brings her one step closer to disaster....

I still love these characters. I still care about what happens to them and I’m STILL worried. Thank everything the next book is out this fall instead of next March. The ending is another cliffhanger with my heart in a vice.

Infinity Bell is packed with action and emotion. I couldn’t put this book down any more than the last one. The focus was on a smaller group of those near and dear to me. The past, the present and the future are all interwoven. It is both emotionally and intellectually compelling.

I enjoyed learning much more about Quinten and a bit more about his childhood with Matilda. There is some insight into his time away from home and the last few years. He is a genius and has worked his whole life to protect his sister. It has cost him quite a bit personally.

The only ones of the thirteen galvanized we spend any real-time with in this book are Abraham and Matilda. Their relationship continues to grow and my heart was a world traveler here. I felt so many things. The time they share and their dialogue is precious to me. We learn more about the origin of the galvanized and their “immortality.”

The world, the mystery, the battles fought and the romances add to my connection with this story. The humor kept me from losing it. The diversity and complexity made it all too real. There have been three 5 star books released this week – please don’t miss this one!!! I can’t recommend Devon Monk or the House Immortal series more highly. It will easily be one of my favorite reads of the year.

Giggle worthy quote:

“Of course I’m not being tracked,” he said with mock offense. “I made sure of that before I left the House rulership in Libra’s hands.”

“Your cousin?” Abraham asked. “She’s … a little chaotic to be standing as a ruler, don’t you think?”

“No,” Welton said. “I think she is a lot chaotic. Which means she is making all sorts of crazy choices and decisions right now. Trust me when I say technology will not be easy for any of the Houses to access or use for a while. It’s …. delightful.” The smile spread into a grin, and I couldn’t help but shake my head.

“You are a troublemaker. You know that, Welton?” I set my duffel down next to one of the couches and sat.

I can't really remember any time when I wasn't reading.I LOVE books and what they give me.It's an opportunity to learn new things, see new places, live different emotions in a "safe" way.It lets me live in a new world.

I read all types of books but my favorites are urban fantasy and romantic suspense.I like some romance and some action / adventure / mystery in everything.I like sex in my books but please, only between TWO people.Intimate conversation is equally important to the sex in a book.It lets me see the characters. The other thing I enjoy is humor.I'll be doing a feature monthly called Thrifty Thursday, which reviews books (ebooks)that have been available for free.
