Ivy believes every life must have balance, and during the past year, she's found harmony living with the Weston pack. When an evil spirit from her past threatens her wolf, it sets off a chain reaction of events that alters the course of her destiny.

Lorenzo Church is a powerful, wealthy Packmaster who rules his pack through intimidation and order. He has vowed to never love a woman because love can destroy an empire. But chaos is fast approaching in the form of a Shifter named Ivy--a Native American, like him, who has invaded his dreams since the moment they met. She is spirited, wise, and unattainable.

In an unexpected turn of events, Ivy must choose whether or not to let go of the one person she has always loved. Lorenzo discovers the root of her courage but will never win her as his mate unless he learns to listen to his heart.

Dannika Dark keeps upping my love for the Seven series. Ivy and Lorenzo’s story is so touching and yet still sexy.

Ivy was traded from her father’s pack to the Wetson pack. It was the best thing that could’ve happened to Ivy because her dad is a total douche canoe! Unlike her pack members in the Wetson pack, Ivy grew up in the pack life and knows all the rules. She’s an alpha female but takes a lower ranking role within the Wetson and she’s totally happy with it.

Ivy has been with the Wetson pack for about a year and just when she was feeling safe someone from her old pack shows up to cause problems. Fox was her dad’s second and he not a nice guy. He and Ivy have a past together that no one knows about. Until a neighboring Pack Master, Lorenzo Church gets involved.

Lorenzo is the Pack Master of his own pack and he rules with an iron but fair fist. He’s never thought about settling down with a mate because of his childhood. He thinks love is for fools and a man can’t trust a woman to be faithful. So he has a different bitch (in this shifter world bitch is not a bad word!) in his bed, often. Until he meets Ivy, of course.

Ivy and Lorenzo has much in common due to their Native American heritages. Not only are Native American a minority in the human world but they are also hard to find in the shifter world and their beliefs are different from your average shifter.

After a car accident the two share four days together, forever changing their lives. I know, four days? Ivy and Lorenzo’s love is not an instant-a-love. They’ve had a connection from the moment that meet one night about a year ago. Lorenzo can’t get the strong and silent little she wolf off his mind. And Ivy can’t help but feel things she never felt for a man when Lorenzo is around.

Dannika Dark really out did herself with Four Days. She took a heartbreaking story with Ivy’s childhood and gave her the HEA she desperately needed and she couldn’t have paired her with a male more perfect for her than Lorenxo.

While you could pick up Four Days as a stand alone read/listen I highly recommend starting with book 1, Seven Years. Or at the very least book 3, Five Weeks where Ivy and Lorenzo meet.

Nicole Poole is climbing up my list of favorite narrators! Her voice is prefect for the Seven series. She delivers both male and female voices to perfection. She has the kind of voice that makes the heroines strong, sweet and sassy while still making the males swoon-worthy. Another thing I love about Nicole Poole’s narration is that I know when she is smiling, you can hear it in her voice.

Poole’s delivery of Ivy was a thing of narration goodness. Ivy is an alpha female wolf that happens to be very soft spoken. Poole made Ivy sound soft, wise and strong all at once. I fight like Ivy’s old soul personality in Poole’s voice.

Nicole pulled off Lorenzo’s voice very well. I dare say her voice for Lorenzo is my favorite male voice of the series (so far).

About Dannika Dark

Dannika traveled abroad in her formative years, learning that life was bigger than her own backyard. With an active imagination, she developed a love for poetry and classic literature. At age 12, influential modern writers such as Stephen King and Anne Rice sparked her interest in writing short stories about magic and the apocalypse, but it wasn’t until decades later that Dannika left her 9-5 corporate job to pursue a career in publishing.

In addition to writing about supernatural worlds, Dannika is passionate about graphic design and creates all her own covers and series art. When not writing, she enjoys indie music, reading, Netflix, strawberry daiquiris, heaps of chocolate, and unleashing her dark side.

All of her published books to date are written in the same universe and contain material suitable for adults only. Dannika’s books have sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.

I coexist with my husband of 15 years, our 11-year-old son and two chilled cats in the Deep South.

After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.

While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).

  1. Sounds great Jennifer! I know a five start rating from you doesn’t come easily. I really enjoyed the first book, and definitely saw a lot potential for the continuation of the series. I need to get back to this soon so the time doesn’t come when there’s too many books out and I feel overwhelm to jump back in.
Great review, I enjoyed Poole’s narration too.
