Can’t Get Enough of . . .  is a new monthly feature here at The Book Nympho where we give you lists of books that are similar either by topic, genre, character types, etc. You can find new posts mid-month on Friday.

I love humor in my romances, it’s what really sets some authors apart from others. If an author can make me laugh and get hot and bothered then they are on my auto-read list. Here are a few authors that have made the top of my list for sexy with a side of hilarious.

Alice ClaytonThe Unidentified Redhead

My love affair with Alice Clayton started with Wallbanger the 1st book in her Cocktail series. Going in, I thought it was going to be another cheesy erotic romance. But I was pleasantly surprised that Wallbanger and all the other books in the series were funny as hell. I LOL so many times listening to this series.

So when was looking for some more fun times I listened to Clayton’s The Unidentified Redhead and again I found myself snorting when I was listening. I got some looks from the people in the gym a few times when I was giggling while on the treadmill. I have the next book on audio in the Redhead series and I’ll be pulling it out soon.

Emma Chase

If you’re looking for a sexy romance with some guy humor then you need to check out Emma Chase’s Tangled series. That Drew Evans is such an ass with his tell it like it is without sugar coating it. He is sexy as sin and twice as hilarious. But he doesn’t get to have all the fun, no the other characters in the series are funny too. Think of this group as the R rated version of Friends.

Christina Lauren

The team of Christina Lauren will have you rolling between the sheets with her Beautiful Bastards series. Seriously, between the über sexy times they will have you laughing your butt off. Think Sex and the City meets Friends but with a couple of British dudes in the mix.

Where some romances like to add a lot of  over done drama, these romances would rather have you rolling your eyes at some of the cheesy (but funny) one liners and pranks these friends play on each other. There’s no room for Emo when you’re laughing so hard.

Have you read any great romances that made you laugh? Let me know in the comments. I’m always looking for a laugh.

My name is Jennifer (not Jen!) and I live in the South. I coexist with my husband of 15 years, our 11-year-old son and two cats. I'm finishing my BA in English this Spring (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not touch anything labeled "classic" but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my courses. While I hated to read growing up I am now avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction with my favorite (at least to date) genres include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly paranormal from authors I read in the adult genre but I'm explaining after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in my college courses).

Those are great picks! Also Molly Harper is funny in both paranormal and contemporary settings. And I can’t tell you how much I adore Penny Reid. I’ve read all of her books and loved them all. My dream book would be co-written by Alice Clayton and Penny Reid.

Emma Chase, Christina Lauren and Alice Clayton are my three favorite authors ever! They write the most hilarious lol moments in the middle of the filthy, sexy times. I don’t know how they so it, but I love them for it. Can not recommend these ladies enough! If you love sexy and hilariously funny you must read their books! I’ve read them all and keep them in my reread pile!

  3. Jonettta – I also like some Sophie Kinsella books, altho some of the characters were almost TSTL I couldn’t help caring about them and laughing.

I also like Jill Shalvis; her humor is more amusing than LOL. But there are some moments that have really stuck with me and made me laugh again and again.

J.D. Robb often has me laughing with her snarky kick-butt Eve Dallas.

Ilona Andrews also makes me laugh often in the Kate Daniels series and her new one, the Hidden Legacy series.

I’ve also heard Penny Reid is very funny and I have her Neanderthal Seeking Human on my Kindle and hope to read it soon. It has Knitting in the series title, another bonus!

I want to read Christina Lauren. I have also enjoyed Alice Clayton and Emma Chase.

This is a great topic for me. I LOVE humor with every genre. Anne

  4. One of the funniest books I’ve ever listened to is Sophie Kinsella’s I’ve Got Your Number. I mean, LOL with tears and losing your breath. There were times, while driving, I had to pull my car off the road I was laughing so hard. Talk about strange looks from other drivers!
