Lennox Greene is a woman with a rebellious past, which she conceals beneath her conservative clothes. She knows that flirting with her boss, Brady Lund, during working hours is a bad idea. So when the handsome CFO of Lund Industries shows up at her favorite dive bar and catches her cutting loose, she throws caution aside and dares him to do the same.
After sparks fly, Brady finds that keeping his hands off Lennox during office hours is harder than expected. Though she makes him feel alive for the first time in years, a part of him wonders if she's just using him to get ahead. And Lennox must figure out whether Brady wants her for the accomplished woman she is or the bad girl she was.
Lennox Greene is a floater in a temp group for Lund Industries in Minneapolis. Brady Lund is the workaholic CFO at the family-owned and operated company. She has recreated herself from a pretty tough start in life and he’s trying to loosen up and, at his family’s urging, have more of a life outside of work. Lennox has admired him from a distance and when Brady happens to show up at the dive from her past, he witnesses her letting loose and decides she’s who he needs as a “tutor.”
I liked Lennox, liked Brady but found their relationship uneven. There were times when they felt perfectly suitable for each other and loved their banter and romance. Then there would be a next move that just felt strange, awkward and inexplicable for where they were in their relationship. It just made it difficult to connect and stay invested in their romance but by the end they made sense.
It’s a good start to the series, though not a strong one. The background workplace storyline made it more interesting. I liked the use of two narrators for Lennox and Brady’s characters and both did a good job in their performances, distinguishing all of the characters nicely. The Lund family is certainly unconventional and should make for intriguing future stories in this series. I do plan to continue, even though I struggled with whether to round my rating up or down. It could go either way.

I also love to talk about books. There’s nothing more exciting than to finish a great story and cover it A to Z with other people, exploring different perspectives and points of view. So, if you see something on my shelf you’d like to talk about, send me a message and we’ll talk!
