After seven hundred years, Prince has acquired everything a Packmaster could desire. But when he meets the enchanting Nadia Kozlov, he realizes that there's one thing he doesn't have: answers. Prince owes his life to a man he hasn't seen in centuries, and Nadia holds the key to his whereabouts, because that man is her father.
Destinies collide when Nadia's sister shows up unexpectedly. Katarina is a skilled bounty hunter, hot on the trail of a nefarious outlaw who turns out to be Prince's old nemesis. Prince teams up with Nadia's sister to track down the Mage, but the real game of cat and mouse is already underway as sparks fly between Prince and the cunning bounty hunter. The only trouble is, Nadia wants him too.
With Charming, we take a break from the Weston Pack to focus on Prince a pack master that leads a neighboring wolf pack and has been a side character for the whole series. We got a closer look at Prince in the previous book, Two Minutes. Even though Prince has been around, you could read/listen to
Even though Prince has been around, you could read/listen to Charming as a stand alone but I highly recommend starting with the first book, Seven. The whole series is fantastic but if you wanted to get a taste for Dannika Dark’s writing then you would be ok with trying Charming. Series fans will love that we get a small look at a couple of the Weston Pack but new readers won’t be lost when they show up.
Prince is an old shifter, a few hundreds of years old and he’s a pure blood. He’s been looking for a pure blood mate over the years but he hasn’t found the perfect alpha female. Until, he meets Nadia, the daughter of his long-lost friend. Nadia is everything that Prince has been looking for, she’s beautiful, alpha, elegant, smart, sophisticated, and a twin sister, Kat.
Kat and Nadia may look-alike on the outside but they are mirror opposites starting with their clothing style to their personalities. Kat is a bounty hunter to Nadia’s business woman. On paper, Nadia and Prince make the most sense but Kat throws Prince for a loop. There’s an instant attraction between Prince and Kat but Kat is loyal to her sister and would never go after a man who was dating her sister.
Nadia is only hanging out with Prince because she was passed over by one of the guys from the Weston Pack in a previous book (won’t tell you so that I don’t spoil you). It doesn’t take all for Prince to realize that the sister he truly wanted is Kat. Once the romance part gets straighten out (for the most part) Prince and Kat work together to find her missing father.
Charming is another great addition to the Seven series. I’m sad that there is only one book left, One Second. But I’m looking forward to seeing how Dark wraps up the series.
Nicole Poole is an outstanding narrator. She does another amazing job with Charming. Her Russian and Scottish accents were fun to listen to and she brought out the spunkiness in Kat and made Prince swoon-worthy. Nicole is one of those narrators that makes listening to audiobooks a pure pleasure.
After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.
While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
Reading this book contributed to these challenges:
