Beast?

When rough diamond Anthony Townsend, who also happens to be one of the richest men in England, bursts into Lady Fenella’s house and demands she hand over his runaway nephew, this dashing widow embarks on a breathtaking adventure that might just end in exciting new love.

Beauty…

Fenella, Lady Deerham, has rejoined society after five years of mourning her beloved husband’s death at Waterloo. Now she’s fêted as a diamond of the first water and London’s perfect lady. But beneath her exquisite exterior, this delicate blond beauty conceals depths of courage and passion nobody has ever suspected. When her son and his school friend go missing, she vows to find them whatever it takes. Including setting off alone in the middle of the night with high-handed bear of a man, Anthony Townsend. Will this tumultuous journey end in more tragedy? Or will the impetuous quest astonish this dashing widow with a breathtaking new love, and life with the last man she ever imagined?

And the Beast?

When Anthony Townsend bursts into Lady Deerham’s fashionable Mayfair mansion demanding the return of his orphaned nephew, the lovely widow’s beauty and spirit turn his world upside down. But surely such a refined and aristocratic creature will scorn a rough, self-made man’s courtship, even if that man is now one of the richest magnates in England. Especially after he’s made such a woeful first impression by barging into her house and accusing her of conniving with the runaways. But when Fenella insists on sharing the desperate search for the boys, fate offers Anthony a chance to play the hero and change her mind about him. Will reluctant proximity convince Fenella that perhaps Mr. Townsend isn’t so beastly after all? Or now that their charges are safe, will Anthony and Fenella remain forever opposites fighting their attraction?

When Anthony Townsend burst into Fenella (Fen) Deerham’s home, all bluster and indignation, he roused more than her awareness. She’d grieved her husband’s death for five years and suddenly she was being reawakened by the most unlikeliest of men.

This was a delightful story with wonderful, pithy banter minus the typical pretense and subterfuge. The romance moved at lightning speed but you just have to read it to understand why it works. Anthony and Fen may come from very different backgrounds but have similar natures, bringing out the best in each other. Together they’re just great and fun characters.

Loved this story and this series!

About Anna Campbell

Anna Campbell was born in Brisbane, Australia, and grew up on an avocado farm with views of Moreton Bay and Stradbroke Island. She writes Regency historical romance for Grand Central Publishing and Avon.

Campbell received an English literature degree at Queensland University. She spent three years working in a bank before living in the UK for two years. She returned to Australia working at a number of jobs until she moved to Sydney where she worked at a charity which subtitled TV programs for the deaf and hearing impaired.

During this time Campbell continued writing. After joining Romance Writers of Australia, she gained more focus. Then one day, she got this idea for a dark sexy Regency historical about a duke who wants to marry his mistress, London’s most notorious courtesan. And ‘No Ordinary Duchess’, which Avon released in April 2007 as Claiming The Courtesan, was born. It went on to final in the Romance Writers of America RITA Award for best Regency Romance and the Romance Writers of Australia Romantic Book of the Year Award. Among numerous awards, it was both best debut and book of year of 2007 in Michelle Buonfiglio’s Romance: B(u)y the Book, best long historical in the Booksellers Best Awards and best first historical in the Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Awards. Campbell was also voted best new author in the All About Romance reader poll of 2007. Her second book for Avon, Untouched, was published in December 2007. It also won numerous awards and was a finalist in both the RITA Awards and the Australian Romantic Book of the Year Awards.

The Sons of Sin series was launched in 2012 with the release of Seven Nights in a Rogue’s Bed.

I LOVE reading and am just crazy about so many series and writers. I’m open to exploring new authors and genres and appreciate those who not only write well but can deliciously craft a character and a tale. Your suggestions for new authors and titles are very much welcomed.

I also love to talk about books. There’s nothing more exciting than to finish a great story and cover it A to Z with other people, exploring different perspectives and points of view. So, if you see something on my shelf you’d like to talk about, send me a message and we’ll talk!
