Lexi has faced personal struggles, but nothing has prepared her for the most perilous battle of her life. Shifters are on the brink of war as Northerners target Colorado in an attempt to infiltrate the borders. Texas winds up on the hit list, and the Weston pack prepares to fight for their land... and for their lives.

Austin's courage is put to the test when rogues want to seize his land and slaughter his pack. But that's not all he's facing as two shocking revelations turn their lives upside down. His love for Lexi is unwavering, but their future is uncertain.

Will the local packs set aside their differences to fight together, or will this be the end of peace among Shifters?

Stand witness to the epic conclusion of the Seven series.

I’m sad that One Second is the last book in the Seven series by Dannika Dark. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the last book in the series being about the first couple, Lexi, and Austin. I mean they had their story in Seven Years but One Second really is a book about the whole pack. Loose ends get tied up and we get to see most of the past characters. It was like a “where are they now” story with Lexi and Austin being featured more than the others. Dannika did a time jump between Three Hours and Two Minutes aging the pack’s children, giving them bigger roles.

One Second give us another, smaller time jump from the beginning of the book to the middle of the book where Lexi is very pregnant and having to deal with the war that’s been brewing between packs and rogue shifters over the last few years. Lexi and Austin have been through hell with several miscarriages over the years. They kept them secret from the rest of the pack. Lexi kept the last one from Austin, fearing that he would leave her if she couldn’t give him children. So when she gets pregnant again she’s afraid of the outcome.

One Second is full of tension, love, laughter and a few tears. I don’t think that Dannika Dark could have wrapped up her Seven series any better. I’ll miss hearing Nicole Poole bring these lovable characters to life. It was a pure joy listening to Nicole tell these chapters in the Weston Pack’s lives and I’m sure the Seven series is one that I will revisit in the future. My only complaint is that one couple didn’t get their old book or novella, but at least they got a HEA in One Second.

Now that I’m finished with this series I’m off to start the Mageri series written by Dannika Dark and narrated by Nicole Poole. I’m sure it will be another amazing series.

Spartacus is the best fictional pet cat in a book ever! LOL

About Dannika Dark

Dannika Dark was born on a military base in the U.S. and traveled the world before she was 9. Now she is rooted in the south but her head is planted firmly in the clouds. When she is not writing, she enjoys a great sci-fi or fantasy movie, heaps of chocolate, reading, and unleashing her dark side. Dannika loves reading paranormal romance, urban fantasy, fiction, and anything that grabs her attention.

THE MAGERI SERIES is an exciting adult urban fantasy romance following the journey of a young woman’s claim to immortality and her own identity. Dark, unique, and full of unpredictable twists, the Mageri series provides an original spin to an old concept. Sometimes ordinary people are destined to lead extraordinary lives.

THE SEVEN SERIES is a light paranormal romance that portrays Shifters living in secret in the modern world. A blend of humor, darkness, heartwarming romance, drama, and real-life issues. This series is for those who love a good love story and believe in second chances. Cliffhanger-free.

I coexist with my husband of 15 years, our 11-year-old son and two chilled cats in the Deep South.

After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.

While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
