I’ve always been on my own. My life used to consist of nothing but work, keeping Allen out of trouble, and if I had time, sleep. Then I became their maid.
Every day more than half a million people tune in to watch my show. They trust me. I know it’s because I’m the only son of the prominent Emerson family. However, I like to believe it because I’m honest no matter what story I report on. I’m honest about everything but the man I’ve been f**king for the last four years… and now her.
I want three things: First, Maxwell Emerson and Jane Chapman both in my bed. Second, to be the best bloody chef in the country. Third, to figure out how to simultaneously get the first and second things I want without any of us getting hurt.
Jane Chapman abruptly leaves her job as a bartender and manager of a strip club (for very good reasons) and takes a job as a maid, assigned to the penthouse apartment of Maxwell (Max) Emerson. When she inadvertently stumbles upon a steamy scene between him and renowned chef, Wesley (Wes) Uhler, Wes is captivated by her which means Max is, too. And, there it begins.
The relationship dynamics between the three are what make this story interesting. The characters are extremely well developed with defined distinctions. The narrative transitions pretty smoothly between the three, all in first person. Getting all of their points of view really helps move the story along, too. It’s when their situation shifts to a sexual one the story becomes exceptional. Their interludes are off the charts and very well written and executed as you’ll be conflicted as to who’s the more appealing.
Be forewarned (I wasn’t) that the story ends in a cliff hanger. I’m not worried though because these three cannot manage without each other. It’s one of the better ménage stories I’ve read.
I also love to talk about books. There’s nothing more exciting than to finish a great story and cover it A to Z with other people, exploring different perspectives and points of view. So, if you see something on my shelf you’d like to talk about, send me a message and we’ll talk!
