When the battle is done . . .
The Emperor unleashes hell and annihilates an army, jeopardizing the future of mankind--but Circe strikes back. The epic clash between them devastates the Arcana world and nearly kills Evie, separating her from her allies.
And all hope is lost . . .
With Aric missing and no sign that Jack and Selena escaped Richter's reach, Evie turns more and more to the darkness lurking inside her. Two Arcana emerge as game changers: one who could be her salvation, the other her worst nightmare.
Vengeance becomes everything.
To take on Richter, Evie must reunite with Death and mend their broken bond. But as she learns more about her role in the future--and her chilling past--will she become a monster like the Emperor? Or can Evie and her allies rise up from Richter's ashes, stronger than ever before?
The team of Cole and Galvin continues to deliver mind-blowing stories to my earbuds!
The Arcana Chronicles is a unique series and I’m always excited to get my hands on a new installment. I get so wrapped up in the story and the characters that everything else just falls away. Total immersion happens when I listen to Emma Galvin deliver an award winning performance.
Arcana Rising brings us one book closer to the series wrapping up (sobs), it also answered some questions from previous books but left enough unanswered that we will have a plate full of goodness when Cole comes back with The Dark Calling in Spring of 2107. And yes it ends with a cliffhanger but if you’re a fan of this series you shouldn’t be surprised. Each book ends with one. So if you’ve not started the series I recommend you holding on until closer to the release of the last book and then binge read/listen to it if you don’t like to wait between books.
The Wait for the LAST book, The Dark Calling will be long.
The Minor Arcana is talked about more Arcana Rising and I think they will play a big part in the next book. Also, we learn that one of the Major Arcana is not what they appear to be and that has to be a big part of the next book. So many options for the finale. I have so many theories (one I shared in the spoiler above).

Fangirl moment was met in September when I finally got to met Kresley Cole at NOLA StoryCon.
After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.
While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
