Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.
Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…
Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?
Roman Crazy focuses on Avery getting herself back after 9 years of marriage to a man she probably should not have married. Not just getting her groove back romantically but professionally. She finds a new love for art along with rekindling her love of a Roman god.
Avery spent time in Spain with a beautiful Roman guy when she was in college and have not stopped thinking about that summer but fear kept her from returning to Marcello. After finding her husband balls deep in his assistant, Avery decides to spend some time with her friend Daisy in Roman where she runs into Marcello.
Their attraction is still there after 9 years but they have to work through their past hurts in order to get to their HEA. Roman Crazy is a sexy, sweet and fun romp through the streets of Roman.
The team of Clayton and Bocci is a promising one and I cannot wait to read their next novel in the Broads Abroad series.
Some of you may recognize Randi Geddens’ voice. She narrates under another name and that’s the reason I decided to experience Roman Crazy via audiobook. Geddens delivers a great performance and her accent for Marcello was perfecto.
After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.
While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
