His rules. Her pleasure. His way.
Italian heiress and international financier Milla Castra knows she can't avoid him forever. Irredeemably hot and controlled Lex Duncan once shared her craving for things deliciously forbidden. He was her lover. Her Master. And the husband she's kept secret from everyone.
But Lex will never relinquish what's his---and Milla is definitely his. And he knows she can't resist the exquisite pleasure that awaits in his arms. When the violence of her past threatens them both, Lex will risk everything to keep Milla safe . . . before she submits to the cruelest master imaginable, Fear.
Since we get the start of Lex and Mills’s story in Rule Breaker there will be a mild SPOILER AHEAD.
Lex and Mills have been secretly married for ten years. There has been a few people who knew of their relationship but only one person knew they were married. Why secretly? Milla has family issues, well really mommy issues. Her mother is a major bitch and because of some rules where the family business is considered Milla has to kept her marriage to Lex a secret in order to inherit her part of the business.
This is a big issue they deal with in Rule Master and it there’s been some conflict over the years that puts a hurt on their relationship among a few other issues. To add to the stress there are issues that Milla is dealing with from the events of her kidnapping from the first book. The kidnapping left her mentally damaged for a short time, keeping her and Lex apart (by her choice) for about 6 months.
Here’s where I almost dropped my rating from a 4 star to a 3 star. The back and forth these two did about “we love each other and need to be together” to “we can’t be together because I’m no good for you”. There was too much back and forth on if they would stay together. BUT the rest of the story and their romance was enough to help me over look some of the unnecessary angst.
Some of the danger from Ruler Breaker carried over to Rule Master so we got to see the characters from the previous story again and see a setup for the next book, Rule Changer (August 15th 2017).
I’m really glad I read Sienna Snow. She’s now earned a spot on my auto-read list for D/s romances. If you are into strong heroines, sexy Dom males, secret babies/marriages then the Rules of Engagement series will be up your alley.
After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.
While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
