Arial knows the rules that keep her safe. She's been following them since she was a little girl: Do not tell. Do not show. But in a moment of terror, facing an attacker intent on taking more than just her life, Ari has no choice but to unleash the psychic powers she's been hiding since childhood.
Now, with her abilities revealed, a bigger threat looms - something that makes her question everything she thought she knew about her parents and her secretive upbringing. But this isn't a fight she can face on her own.
As the head of Devereaux Security, Beau Devereaux is no stranger to the strange. But when he takes on a new client - a beautiful young woman with an extraordinary gift - Beau isn't prepared for the extent of his attraction to her. What began as a simple assignment, just another job, quickly turns personal as Beau discovers he'll do anything at all to protect Ari. No matter what it costs him personally. Even his heart and soul.
read it, track it is a way for me to track books for my reading challenges and the reviews will be super short.
In His Keeping followings a story about another heroine with a supernatural ability, telekinetic powers. The story opens up with one couple who seems to be the main characters but they are actually Arial’s parents and we get see her use her powers for the first time. Fast forward and we see an adult Arial deal with her life in danger and her parents have gone missing.
Arial seeks help from Devereaux Security, since her father told her if she ever needs help she is find the Devereaux brothers. She and Beau have an instant-a-lust connection that turns into instant-a-love after they are thrown together after a dangerous encounter getting her to a safe place so he can help her find her parents.
The two sex it up in between life and death action making In His Keeping action packed with some very smoking loving make. Jeffrey Kafer delivers another great performance but I wish some of the “sexy” dialogue wasn’t so corny.
I’ll continue the Slow Burn series.
After 17 years I've finally finished my BA in English (no I do not want to be a teacher). Before majoring in English I would not have touched anything labeled "classic", but I have enjoyed a few along the way in my college career.
While I hated to read growing up, I am now an avid book reader and audiobook listener. I love rejecting reality one book at a time. I only read fiction within my favorite (at least to date) genres which include: most romance (paranormal, contemporary, D/s, BDSM, M/M)Urban Fantasy, and a few YA (mostly PNR or UF from favorite adult authors, but I'm slowly stepping out of my comfort zone after enjoying a few contemporary YA novels in adolescent literature class I took).
