If you are a fan of the Demonica series this is a great little side story. It’s about two Guardians that work together and have fallen in love with one another. Things go wrong on an assignment and Kaden gets turned to a vamp and the couple has to deal with his new status in the underworld. We get to see a little of Tayla (she is leading female in Please Unbound, 1st book in the Demonica series) when Andrea and Kaden goes to her for help. This is a short but action and passion packed story from Larissa Ione. I highly recommend it to anyone that is having Demonica withdrawals like me since the series has ended.

Jaz is a tough heroine with a smart mouth. Got to love those kick-ass chicks with attitude. She is a totally believable character with her family problems with her stubborn dad, little sister, and twin brother. And since this book is about a tough heroine that works for the C.I.A. that is partnered with a Vamp you know there will be action in the book. There was a good mix of humor with action and I liked the side characters and hope they continue to show up in future books. The relationship that Jaz and Vayl have starts out as a great working partnership and then by the end of the book it turns into something more. But there is not much romance in this […]

I was curious about this book after I saw a few discussion threads on Shelfari about the abnormalities of the males in this series. (Two penises, really?!) While some were put off by this, me being the sick puppy that I am, I was fascinated. So my curiosity led me to buy the book used on Amazon without really researching it. I didn’t realize it was set in the early 1800’s. Now I’ve never read historical romances and after reading this book I don’t think I would like them. The reasoning being I don’t care for the time period where women were basically slaves to their husbands. They usually had no choice in whom they marry and that was true in this book. Jane was […]

This is the first book by Anya Bast I’ve read and I was pleasantly surprised. I assumed it was going to be mostly romance focused. But it Bast’s characters and world building sucked me in and kept me interested. I couldn’t put the book down. I almost finished it in one sitting. The main female character, Mira is trying to survive on her own after an ugly divorce from her cheating husband. She is working as a waitress trying to support herself, while trying to complete a college degree. One night while she is at work she notices that the hot and mystery guy that she can’t take her mind off of is sitting at a table in her section. She goes to wait on […]

Think X-rated X-men, the characters are human but with special abilities. There is an over all developing plot throughout the series and each book has a main couple with a few side couples mixed in. In this book we get to see Trance, an ex-army MP that has had tons of Special Forces training go undercover to find Ulrika (Rik), a wolf shapeshifter They meet in a BDSM club in London and since they are both Doms it’s hard for them to submit to each other. But over the time they open themselves to each other like they have never done before. There are some really hot BDSM scenes between the two. I’m not really up on the BDSM scene so I found myself Googling a […]
