Review TV journalist Savanna Bunkett destroyed Navy SEAL hero Trace Hunter’s career after airing an investigative report that exposed him as a traitor. He spent 18-months in prison for crimes he didn’t commit and was suddenly released, finding himself working for Shadow Force International and assigned as a bodyguard to Savanna. She’s now become the target of the president because of her current research that threatens his office. Trace looks nothing like the man in the photos from two years ago and she doesn’t recognize her bodyguard, who has every reason to despise her.   This story rocked from the opening chapters and never really let go. It’s different from the typical stories about military operatives in that Trace was one of those […]

Finding Lyla by Cate Beauman: Excerpt & Giveaway!

The Inspiration Behind Finding Lyla Typically I get my story ideas from crime documentaries or some sort of crime television program, but I can’t say that is the case for Finding Lyla. When I was coming up with ideas for this novel, I knew I wanted to tell a story about a hero that had struggled through some rough times and a heroine that had some unresolved issues of her own, but was soft, strong, and gentle all at the same time. During the summer months, I started paying close attention to the ongoing Russia/US conflict and Lyla and Collin assured me they wanted their story to revolve around an adventure that combined all of these elements together.   Excerpt Collin settled beneath the covers […]

Review Kat Chandler is still grieving over her fiancé who didn’t return from his deployment in Afghanistan. It’s been two years and she’s immersed herself in her work as a first-year principal of an elementary school. When the new groundskeeper, Micah Peterson, enters her orbit, along with his adorable son, she starts on a new one. Micah’s son Ben has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. I loved how devoted he was to his child and how clear he was about being a package deal with any potential relationship. Though he and Kat had an immediate attraction, both had really good reasons to proceed cautiously, especially when she found out he was a Marine.   The strength of the story is in the […]

Paige Tyler’s Top 5 Favorite Places To Write

Paige Tyler’s Top 5 Favorite Places To Write

Top 5 Favorite Places To Write My go-to location to write is on the couch in our living room with QVC on TV (volume down), while listening to my iPad either playing music or the Jim Rome Show (on iHeart Radio). My fur baby is typically sitting on the back of the couch right beside me looking over my shoulder and beta reading as I write. That’s where I get the lion’s share of my book writing done, but sometimes you can’t always write where you want to. Deadlines are deadlines no matter where you are, so I’ve gotten used to taking my laptop everywhere I go. Even if I’m not necessarily “writing” on my stories, I’m always thinking about them. In fact, sometimes when […]

Excerpt   “There was this guy.” “OOH, a guy.” “Shut up,” I said, laughing. “We flirted and drank all night, and he was so hot and sweet and. . . .” “You are totally gushing over a boy. I can’t believe it.” “I am not,” I protested, but I knew I was. “I don’t even know his name.” “Why not?” “I threw up before we got that far.” Sabrina fell back on my bed laughing. “You did not.” I hid my head back under my pillow. “I did.” “Girl, you are hopeless,” she said, still laughing. “How hot was he?” I came out from hiding. “Pretty damn hot.” “As in you’d shave for him? That hot?” “As in I’d wax for him.” Sabrina started to […]

No Matter How Far You Run, The Past Will Find You Leslie Tentler is back with another story of romance and suspense…this time in a small Southern beach town called Rarity Cove. What happens when a woman on the run has her dangerous secrets finally catch up with her? Find out in Before the Storm by Leslie Tentler. Excerpt The Sea King Motor Court sat off the two-lane highway heading inland out of Rarity Cove. A good four miles from the beach, the one-story, painted cinderblock structure was outdated and somewhat run-down, with a small swimming pool surrounded by a chain-link fence next to the parking lot. Samantha walked past the unoccupied, darkened pool, clutching her purse that contained Lenny’s payoff. Room six. […]

And with one kiss You inspired a fire of devotion That lasted for twenty years What kind of man loves like this? “The music of Florence and The Machine is like my spirit animal. I wish I could write something so perfectly sexy and broken and personal and smart, popular and totally outside the box at the same time. I love love love this music. And this song fits Annie’s utter dumbstruck and perhaps ill-fated fascination with the man on the other end of the phone…” M. Redemption Road by Katie Ashley

Redemption Road by Katie Ashley

Redemption Road  was a book everyone wanted after the first book.  “Rev”  is a great guy and now he is president of the club. His mindset is very real; he treats all people better than one would expect. Other than those he kills.  Annabel really grew throughout the story and I appreciated it. They shared some difficult things in their lives which helped them connect and almost too quickly.    This book continued the trends from the first book as far as family, violence, poor treatment of women.  Violence does include property destruction, fighting and murder. Other than some interactions with other clubs or a few scenes at the clubhouse, we don’t see that much actual biker life stuff.  The story is the big […]
