Excerpt Spanish Lessons   I take her out onto the deck. There are fewer people here and I find a quiet corner where I can touch her and talk to her without interruption. “You want anything to drink?” “Nope.” She places her water bottle on the railing. “That’s not my preferred buzz.” “I’ve heard that.” “You’ve been checking up on me.” “I hear things.” I smile and lean down until our forehead touch heads and I can feel her breath on my face. She steps into me and I place my hands on her hips. We fit together perfectly and I can’t help but imagine how good it will be when all these clothes are out of the way. “I thought you wouldn’t be […]

Dark Heir by Faith Hunter

I couldn’t wait to read Dark Heir and it arrived when I was really busy so I had to actually put it down and it took over a week to read, instead of a day!  Oh the torture. I’m so comfortable with these characters and the world now.  They feel like the dearest of friends, and enemies.  I especially enjoy the relationship which has developed with Jane and her partners, the Younger brothers.   Especially since I don’t like how things are with Molly and I haven’t for awhile.   This is a series which should be read in order; this would not be as much fun as a standalone book. Now I have to say the humor, in this book, felt better than many of the previous […]

Bring on the Bling By Isabella Bradford   I’m so excited for the release this week of my newest historical romance, A SINFUL DECEPTION. This is a story that’s been in my head for a long time, and I’ve always wanted to write a book that includes not just Georgian England, but the farthest corners of the British Empire. My heroine, Serena Carew, was born in India, the daughter of a English nobleman stationed there. While Serena has spent most of her life as an English lady, her Indian heritage is impossible for her to forget – and it’s also one of the things that Lord Geoffrey Fitzroy comes to love most about her.   There are many memories and experiences that make Serena who […]

Bah Humbug! It’s A Wonderful Fireman by Jennifer Bernard

IT’S A WONDERFUL FIREMAN is a cute, sexy and heart warming contemporary romance where fireman Mulligan hates Christmas. So where would be the “funniest” place for a fireman like Mulligan to get trapped on Christmas Eve Eve? A Christmas store named Under the Mistletoe. While on a call, Mulligan and his fire squad are called to a fire at a local shopping center. Mulligan is the last to get off the roof and gets trapped in the store after a fall. Mulligan has hallucinations where his girlfriend Lizzie visits him via Clarence (angel from It’s a Wonderful) style. But instead of an angel Lizzie is dressed as a naughty elf. But she not there to kiss Mulligan under the mistletoe, she’s there to show him […]

As an operative for Taylor Securities and a former Army Ranger, Vic Andrews has seen and lived his share of dangerous assignments. In fact, it’s been his identity until now…now that he’s falling for his best friend and boss’s sister, Gina Delgado. She’s a widow with three children and as strong as her attraction is to Vic, Gina’s not up for being with another man who’s in a dangerous profession. You can’t help but fall for Vic who’s every bit a man’s man but has his tender side emerge front and center when he gets further involved with Gina and her children. I loved their quirky romance and her sense of humor. She doesn’t take any mess from Vic, her children or her overprotective brother. […]

Faith Hunter Talks About NOT Writing Romance

Faith Hunter Talks About NOT Writing Romance

I get asked about romance for Jane Yellowrock all the time. And I get it. I do. Romance sells. Romance is addictive. We all know it, we all desire it in our lives, and we all want our favorite literary heroes to get lucky, get happy, and get connected in every way possible with his-or-her soul mate. Every writer knows this, every writer wants to sell books, so every writer should write romance. Right? Eh…maybe. Among other things, I write thrillers in a paranormal setting, thrillers with a dash of horror and paranormal characters, also called Urban Fantasy. Writing romance into any thriller can be hard. Writing romance into Jane Yellowrock’s life is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Especially pacing romance (and sex?) into […]

This just can’t be the last of this series!! Quick summary Harrison Montgomery has worked his entire adult life for this moment in his political career, running for a Georgia congressional seat. He’s running the race of his life, trying to outdistance himself from his father’s sordid political record, only to create his own scandal because of a weak moment. That moment involved Ryan Komanski who didn’t even know who he was.   The heart of the story Ryan only intended to provide a moment of solace to Harrison that night they spent together. She didn’t even know his last name so even if she’d wanted him to be part of her pregnancy it wasn’t a possibility. Harrison’s jaded experiences with women dashed all his […]
