Review: Dating A Cougar by Donna McDonald

Review: Dating A Cougar by Donna McDonald

I was in a bit of PNR/UF burn out mode, so I scrolled through my Nook library for something a little different to read and ran across Dating A Cougar that I downloaded months ago from the FREE section at B& This fun and sexy contemporary romance was just what I needed to get me out of my “creature” funk. The writing was nicely done and the characters was fun, snarky and I found myself really caring about them and if they got their HEA. Casey is a hot retired Marine in his late 30s. He can be a real alpha or as Alexa likes to call him, a caveman. But when it really counts he is sweet and caring for the people in his […]

Review: A Blood Seduction by Pamela Palmer

Review: A Blood Seduction by Pamela Palmer

I am a fan of Palmer’s Feral Warriors Series, which is PNR; so I was very excited to get my hands on the first book in her new vamp series that is more on the UF side. I’ve seen some mixed reviews and one of my blogging buddies, Jen @ Red Hot Books didn’t care too much for it. I trust her judgement in books because we usually enjoy the same reads. And when I saw she was having a hard time with A Blood Seduction it made me want to read it even more to see if I agreed with her. Well for the first time I enjoyed a book that she didn’t. See we are all not going to love the same books. […]

Now, it’s up to Sookie and Bill, the official Area Five investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time, the dead girl’s fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. Audio Review: Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh

Audio Review: Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh

I don’t know what difference, if any was, about the production of this audio verse the first book on audio but the narrator did a much better job with the male voices this time around; helping me enjoy the listen more. While the narration was MUCH better this time, the story level was about the same in Visions of Heat as it was in Slave to Sensation. By that I mean, I enjoy the concept of the Psy-Changeling world but the main characters that have been introduced so far are just lacking something. There are some secondary characters I am more interested in, so I can’t wait to get to their respective books. I liked the couple well enough but I wanted more. Faith was […]

The Terrible Girls Club is group of gals on Goodreads that got together through our love of Stacia Kane’s Downside Ghost Series and our obsession over the anti-hero, Terrible. But the Terrible Girls Club Feature will not be just about the one series. We will be getting together to do buddy reads/reviews, interviews, questionnaires and etc. This is my first buddy read/review so I hope you enjoy Laura @ Little Read Riding Hood  and mine thoughts on the book. Dead on the Delta by Stacey Jay (Annabelle Lee #1) NookBook, 270 pagesPublished June 2011 by Pocket Books RATING: ★★★ 1/2 Once upon a time, fairies were the stuff of bedtime stories and sweet dreams. Then came the mutations, and the dreams became nightmares. Mosquito-size fairies now indulge their […]

Audio Review: Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

Audio Review: Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

I’ve had this series on my TBR list for a long time. So when was having a sale I grabbed books 1, 2 and 4, 5 (yes I don’t have 3 in audio but I have it in ebook). I really wish I had only used one of my credits on this series. I didn’t love the narrator. IMO she didn’t change her voice enough for the male characters and I found myself a little confused from time to time about who was speaking or thinking. But since I have the others I will continue to listen to them. But I can’t help but think I would have enjoyed reading Slave to Sensation more than I did listening to it. While I didn’t […]
