ROMP with a side of Stomp from Bec McMaster

ROMP with a side of Stomp from Bec McMaster

If any of you know my London Steampunk books, then you’ll know that I like to mix a fair bit of ROMP with my STOMP. Featuring daring duels, dangerous escapes by dirigible, or thrilling chases through the eerie, fog-dusted London streets… there’s plenty here for the STOMP fan, but when it comes down to it, I’m definitely Team ROMP. Because while my books feature a strong undercurrent of action, the most fascinating part is watching two people fall in love. Fighting monsters is all well and good, but fighting your feelings is a challenge you know they’ll never win. Maybe it’s got something to do with Garrett, the smooth-talking hero in my upcoming release, FORGED BY DESIRE, and how he just can’t get his best friend out of his mind… Perry’s his partner, and the woman who’s had his back on all of the cases they’ve worked in the […]

Mandy Baxter is Bring Romp with HOT Gifs & Top 5 List

Mandy Baxter is Bring Romp with HOT Gifs & Top 5 List

Top Five Reasons Why Sex Scenes Trump Fight Scenes Thanks, Jennifer for having me as a guest today! Sure, fight scenes can keep you on the edge of your seat, but nothing gets your heart pumping like a good sex scene. I’m talking about the kind of on-the-page lovin’ that causes your body to go rigid, your breath to catch, and your fingers to curl around the edges of your book or e-reader in a white-knuckled grip. A book with sex scenes that leaves you feeling as satisfied as the hero and heroine is a book worth reading if you ask me! Smexy times FTW! So here are my top 5 reasons why sex scenes trump fight scenes. 5. Living Vicariously The best sex scenes are like a dream you don’t want to wake up from. There’s no awkwardness, no embarrassment, no body issues. No one bumps heads or faces, the […]

Romping with AC Arthur’s Shadow Shifter

Romping with AC Arthur’s Shadow Shifter

Want to Romp With A Shadow Shifter? Of course you do! There’s no question that these alpha men can definitely stomp all over their enemies day and night. Just ask Sabar and Rolando. Oh wait, they can’t tell you because they’re dead. So the Shadow Shifters are badass jaguar shifters that you definitely do not want to piss off! But for me, there’s just something much more appealing about them. For all the hype of how deadly their stomp is, it’s the romping skills that they possess that get me…and hopefully the readers…every time. Let’s do a little roll call for the Stateside Shifters… Roman Reynolds, called the lethal litigator for his smooth, yet deadly, skills in the courtroom. Smooth translates into the bedroom, or should I say the back of his black Suburban with Det. Kalina Harper. Romp Quote:  “You can’t deny me because that would be like […]

Romp Can be Funny and Sexy with Jenn Bennett

Romp Can be Funny and Sexy with Jenn Bennett

Some of you may know me from my urban fantasy series, Arcadia Bell. Others may know me from my Roaring Twenties paranormal romance books. Next year, I’ll be releasing my first Young Adult book, THE NIGHT OWLS, which is contemporary romance—nothing supernatural in sight. All of my books have romance. All of my books have sex. (Yep, even the YA!) And readers often tell me that my romantic scenes are intimate. I think that’s because, much like my characters, they aren’t cookie-cutter. You can’t just do a copy-and-paste on the character names and shift them into another book. My goal is always to write scenes that belong to THAT couple at THAT exact moment in time. However, if I had to pinpoint one singular reason why those scenes work so well, it’s because of humor. Funny is intelligent. Funny is sexy. I don’t mean broad sitcom-with-a-laugh-track humor, but sharp, […]

Romping with Kelly Meade’s Sexy Werewolves

Romping with Kelly Meade’s Sexy Werewolves

Hey all, it’s Kelly Meade! I was going to open this up with the whole “aka Kelly Meding” thing, but this is Team ROMP, y’all. I’m going to put Meding away for a while, because Meade writes romance! Why the team jump? Because my Cornerstone Run trilogy is all about finding true love for three sexy shifter brothers. And is there really anything sexier than a shifter? Don’t answer that, it’s a trick question. No, there is nothing sexier than a shifter. Bird shifter, cat shifter, bear shifter, you name it, it’s going to be sexy. But the reason that werewolves continue to be popular in paranormal romance is because no one is sexier than a wolf shifter. Am I right, Joe Manganiello fans? Sexy. Alpha. Male. And he’s embracing his gray hair. *thud* Okay, climbing back up off the floor….sexy shifter brothers. Three of them, no less. Now […]

A Romp-o-licious Snippet from Caressed by Shadows by Amanda J. Greene

A Romp-o-licious Snippet from Caressed by Shadows by Amanda J. Greene

I’ve followed Stomp v. Romp every year. It is a wonderful time to learn of about new authors and to add more books to my to read list. However, I cast my vote for Romp. I’m in LOVE with romance! So much so that I would like to share a snippet from my recent paranormal romance release, Caressed by Shadows (Rulers of Darkness, #4). ~ Moonlight draped over the chrome stairs, lighting her way to freedom. The glittering rays glinted off the metal of the various, gruesome torture devices that decorated the walls of the dungeon entry chamber. Had Samuel planned on using those tools on her? Rage darkened Sonya’s vision, turning her sparkling golden eyes black. Before she left England, she would claim the bastards’ head. Bullets hissed passed her. Sonya kept running, taking the stairs two at a time. Falcon followed, firing his gun into the shadows behind […]

Elisabeth Staab’s HEA Insurance Policy for Romp Writing

Elisabeth Staab’s HEA Insurance Policy for Romp Writing

The HEA Insurance Policy   Some days, most days, I have a great deal of faith in humanity. Small wonders feed that faith, from stories about random people helping the homeless to the time someone paid for my coffee ahead of me in the drive through. I’m inspired by the good I see in the world every day. I’m equally heartbroken by the bad. There’s a whole lot of misfortune in the world. Some days it makes us all want to hug our kids tighter, and some days it’s the little things that get us down. Things like having to sit in rush-hour traffic with a headache or the guy next to you in line at the mall who was rude. Life doesn’t come with too many guarantees, which I suppose is why we have a booming insurance industry. We know for certain about death and taxes, both of […]
