Hollywood bad boy Brad Sinclair always gets his way, whether it's the role he wants or the bikini-clad model he has to have. But when a bombshell gets dropped in his lap in the form of a dimpled five-year-old from a forgotten relationship, he knows his life is about to change forever.

Cara DuMont isn't exactly thrilled when she gets assigned to be the nanny for the latest box-office king. She has one rule: no celebrity fathers, especially single ones with devilish good looks and rock-hard abs.

But as soon as Cara meets Brad and his adorable little girl, she knows she's in for a world of trouble. Because there's something about the way Brad looks at her that makes her believe that some rules are meant to be broken...

Grab the Kindle book for $3.99 and add the audio for only $1.99!

I’m a big fan of C.D. Reiss. She writes great erotica romances. Bombshell is not erotica and that’s ok. I was detailed to see that I enjoyed it just as much as Reiss’s steamier titles. Not to say Bombshell doesn’t get steamy, it’s just a different kind of sexy.

Bombshell is a romance between nanny and sexy Hollywood actor from Arkansas. Freaking Arkansas! (My home state) But this isn’t the that kind of story. Brad gets a big bombshell in the form of a 5-year-old daughter he didn’t know anything about, Nicole. Brad is the typical party guy in Hollywood so when he becomes a dad overnight he needs help. That’s where Cara, the nanny.

Cara wants nothing to do with families in the business. The husbands generally hit on the nannies, the wives hate the nannies if they are young and pretty,  but the paparazzi loves pretty nannies. Cara is afraid if she works for someone like Brad she will end up on the front covers of the tabloids for sleeping with him. She loves kids and only wants to do her job but after a new job assignment falls through she works for Brad with the understanding it’s for only 30 days as a consultant until he finds a permanent nanny for Nicole.

30 days, yeah right. Cara falls for Brad and Nicole and they fall for her. Bombshell is a romance where the guy and gal fall in love with each other and with the 5-year-old girl that’s landed in both their lives.

I was given an eARC for review but after seeing I could buy the Kindle book and grab the audio for an extra $1.99 I jumped on it. Why? Because I’m a big fan of both the narrators, Andi Arndt and Christian Fox. Bombshell is told from both Cara and Brad’s POVs. Andi narrates Cara’s POV and Christian voices Brad’s POV. Both narrators do a great job bring the characters to life.

Excerpt:

The front door opened. I expected a housekeeper or butler, but it was the actor himself.

I hadn’t forgotten how beautiful he was; I’d just chosen not to think about it.

“Ma’am,” he said. Southern boy. Parents together. Christian elementary. Public secondary. Two years at USC Drama. Dates his costars for a month after the wrap party, then moves on. Poring through the trades and making calls, I’d discovered he’d spend at least eight of the next twelve months overseas doing action movies, but most had postproduction in town.

“Mr. Sinclair,” I said, holding my hand out. “Nice to see you outside a bathroom.”

He shook my hand.

I’d shaken plenty of famous hands attached to gorgeous men, but my imagination was sparked by the way his fingers slid against mine to grasp them and the way our palms pressed together. My mind clouded over with ripped sheets, hard muscles, and soft skin.

“Pleasure’s mine,” he said and my brain skipped like a trip on a cracked sidewalk over the word pleasure.

He didn’t give me the oversincere hand-over-clasp to show me how damn happy he was to see me, but there was something intimate about that half a second.

Just a consultation.

I followed him into the house. Dora Donovan had designed it. Looked like her with her faux-midcentury white couch and shag rug. That wasn’t going to work with playdates unless he wanted to keep an upholsterer on staff.

We went through the living room to a smaller room with a pool table smack in the middle. It had a stained glass Budweiser lamp over it and was racked for nine-ball. Dora Donovan had nothing to do with this room, for sure.

“Wanna sit?” He held a chair out for me. The glass-topped table was just inside the open patio doors and was set with iced tea.

I sat.

“I’m not a date,” I said kindly, indicating the iced tea setup. “Just so you know. You don’t have to do things like hold the chair for me.”

“Habit, I guess.”

He sat opposite me.

“Chivalry is nice. But with the nanny, whomever you hire, it can be misconstrued.”

He smirked a little, as if misconstruing his own thoughts. I cleared my throat and pulled my jacket closed.

About Andi Arndt

Andi’s relatively neutral US English accent is a product of a Minnesota childhood, New Jersey high school years, and Maryland/DC/Virginia adulthood. Firm grounding in both theatre and broadcasting led to full-time work in voice over.

About C.D. Reiss

CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to try her hand at books.

She’s been nicknamed the “Shakespeare of Smut,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to chop a cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Separation Games by C.D. Reiss

Separation Games by C.D. Reiss

WARNING: While I did not have an issue with it and I thought that Reiss handled the scene and characters with care, there is a scene between Adam and Diana that some readers may not be comfortable with. While I would not call it a simulated rape scene it does push the line that some readers may not want to experience.    CD Reiss never fails to leave me feeling emotionally drained and satisfied all at the same time. I have been waiting for Separation Games since I was 50% into Marriage Games. Diana and Adam are two wonderfully broken people. They lived five years of marriage together never really being their true selves or the real couple they could have been. After Diana left Adam they both […]

Marriage Games by C.D. Reiss

C.D. Reiss is permanently on my auto-buy list and so is Sebastian York, listening to Marriage Games is no brainer! Marriage Games is told through both Adam and Diana’s POVs, with the first half of the book told from Adam’s POV while the second half switches to Diana’s POV.  switching back between Present Tense and Past Tense. Each chapter is labeled as Present Tense, Past Perfect, feeding off the flashback aspect and the literary aspect of the publishing business the couple own and run together. I love it when an audio book has switching POVs is performed by a male and female narrator. Elena Wolfe voices Diana’s POVs and her dialogue even in Adam’s POV. Sebastian York voices Adam’s POV and his dialogue during Diana’s […]

Series Catch Up: The Submission Series by CD Reiss

I don’t know why I waited so long to list to the Sequence Two audio bundle in CD Reiss’s Submission series.  This set of stories about Jonathan and Monica is just an emotional rollercoaster that Sequence One. I was as emotionally wrung out as Monica was listening to the Control, Burn, Resist. I found myself taking on the role of Monica, being both turned by Jonathan and wondering why she was willing to allow him to sex her up to get her to stop asking questions. Anytime I read or listen to a romance that has BDSM elements I wonder how much of those parts are real. Some sound fun, some sound naughty, some nice (having someone to take care of you) […]

Beg, Tease, Submit: Books 1-3: Submission Series by CD Reiss

Where has C.D. Reiss been?! Wow she brings a new level of writing to the Erotic Romance genre! Really, I can’t think of another book in the genre that I gave a 5 stars rating. Sure there are others that I really like but it’s been a little while. SONGS OF SUBMISSION: SEQUENCE ONE is books 1 -3 (BEG, TEASE & SUBMIT) in the Songs of Submission series by C.D. Reiss. They were originally released as a serial series and the books in the whole series are being produced in audio book format.  I’m so glad that I got to listen to them all together. If I had to wait for TEASE after listening to BEG I would have gone nuts. […]
