I have to admit I was reluctant to start this book. While Gib is a really good friend to the women of Aisle Bound, he’s also renowned for being a serious serial lover. The idea of Daphne getting involved with him wasn’t that appealing. But, I guess this is my year to find warm places in my heart for these guys….my third one so far! The setup Gib is gorgeous, smart and the talented British manager of a five-star hotel in Chicago. He and Daphne, a creative and successful florist, have been best friends for a long time, though she’s secretly had a thing for him. When she makes the first move, he’s stunned but warm to the idea. When he decides to date her […]

Becca Heglund was glad to see Jack Whittaker and not just because he came to save the town’s annual Christmas production. He might be a famous film director but back in high school, he and his business partner, Tyler Petersen, were her best friends…drama geeks. And, she’s had a crush on him forever but doesn’t know he’s secretly had one for her, too.   I’m a big fan of friends to lovers stories and this one had a slight twist because of Tyler’s role in the relationship. Also, Jack’s not happy being back in Minneapolis and doesn’t have warm and fond memories growing up there and is quite Scrooge-ish about Christmas.   Becca’s a talented producer and she works her magic not only […]

I never thought about the many ways a baker could be sexy and Sam Lyons has transformed my image of a man who handles dough and sugar. Mira is no slouch either and she goes toe-to-toe with Sam when their first meetings were less than perfect. She certainly got and kept his attention. Their romance eventually takes off and Sam finds some really exciting uses for the concoctions and sauces found in his bakery. Use your imagination. Both have some really tough family issues to contend with that have […]

Review: Planning for Love by Christi Barth

At the beginning of this story, I was pretty certain that Ivy Rhodes, all pink and girly and glass waaaaay half full, was going to eventually get on my nerves. She is in love with love and is committed to having her brides get the most perfect experience on their wedding days. But, it eventually became clear that, while she seemed a bit starry-eyed and simplistic, Ivy lives what she speaks. Behind all that froth is a woman who is extraordinary at what she does because she believes in herself and would do anything to have her brides’ days be perfection. Ben Westcott has plenty of reason to be cynical and his pairing with Ivy at first seemed headed for eventual disaster. But, even he […]
