From subway to Broadway to happily ever after. Modern love in all its thrill, hilarity, and uncertainty has never been so compulsively enjoyable as in New York Times and number one international best-selling author Christina Lauren's (Beautiful Bastard, Dating You/Hating You) new romance.

Marriages of convenience are so...inconvenient.

Rescued by Calvin McLoughlin from a would-be subway attacker, Holland Bakker pays the brilliant musician back by pulling some of her errand-girl strings and getting him an audition with a big-time musical director. When the tryout goes better than even Holland could have imagined, Calvin is set for a great entry into Broadway - until he admits his student visa has expired and he's in the country illegally.

Holland impulsively offers to wed the Irishman to keep him in New York, her growing infatuation a secret only to him. As their relationship evolves from awkward roommates to besotted lovers, Calvin becomes the darling of Broadway. In the middle of the theatrics and the acting-not-acting, what will it take for Holland and Calvin to realize that they both stopped pretending a long time ago?

I’m a huge fan of the writing duo of Christina Lauren, now I’m a fan of K.C. Sheridan. She delivered the raw emotions in Roomies. I love her little Irish accent for Calvin, it didn’t feel forced.

Roomies is a romance about a twenty-five year old woman who’s in a bit of a holding patterning when it comes to her person and work life. The only thing Holland does for herself is “stalk” a subway busker who plays his guitar in the subway she doesn’t need to use. She saw him by chance 6 months ago and now takes detours between her apartment and work just to hear him play.

One thing leads to another and Holland has some liquid courage one night and actually speaks to the guitarist she has named Jack in her head. She finds out that he is Irish and his name is Calvin. After things fall apart for her uncle when the lead violinist quits and he is in need of a new musician, Holland takes uncle Robert to the subway to hear Calvin. But Calvin can’t work for uncle Robert because his student visa experienced four years ago. Holland gets the crazy idea to marry him so he can stay in the country and work on the play for her uncle.

Roomies starts with a girl who has a crush on a stranger and ends with a HEA for an unlikely couple brought together in an unexpected way. Looking for a fun, sweet, heartbreaking and sexy romance about a shame of a marriage turned true love pick up a copy of Christina Lauren’s Roomies. I highly recommend it on audio!

Autoboyography by Christina Lauren

I was so blown away by Christina Lauren’s Autoboyography that I emailed two of my former English professors to recommend the book to them for their YA Lit classes they have for teaching majors. I believe this book should be added to all high school reading lists across the world!! Why was I blown away? Book Hangover: Autoboyography is one of those novels I will be thinking about weeks after listening to it. This rarely happens to me. Sure I stay stuck on a book for a day or two maybe but weeks?! I can count on one hand how many books have stayed with me that long. This novel is so beautifully written. They layers to […]

Evie Abbey is a highly successful features talent agent at Price & Dickles in Los Angeles. She meets Carter Aaron, a television literary talent agent at CT Management, when they both attend a costume party hosted by mutual friends and they’re the only singles. Turns out they really clicked, even though they worked for competing agencies. When circumstances play a cruel joke and they end up not only working together but in direct competition for the same job, things get…well, complicated.   What I really loved about this story was its authenticity. Most of us know how cutthroat the Hollywood industry can be so there’s no way to avoid having two successful people not have a little larceny in their souls. Evie and […]

First Christina Lauren wraps up their Wild Seasons series and now this one?! I have no doubt they have something awesome in the pipeline for their fans but I’m sad to see the Beautiful Bastard series end! Pippa and Jensen are connected to other characters in previous books. Pippa is friends with Ruby who ended up with Naill in Beautiful Secret and Jensen is Hanna’s big brother who ended up with Jensen’s best friend Will in Beautiful Player. We get to see both of these couples in Beautiful as they all take a fun road trip together. Jensen and Pippa agree to go on said road trip with the couples after they found out they wouldn’t be the fifth wheel. But once they find out […]

Beautiful Boss by Christina Lauren

It’s always a pleasure getting back into the world and characters of the Beautiful Bastard series by Christina Lauren. I know I’m going to laugh and swoon. Beautiful Boss let us get back to Will and Hanna to see what they were up to after their HEA in Beautiful Player. They’re all grown up as a couple, well they are on their way. Marriage, big job offers and smoking wedding night sex. Beautiful Boss was like an extend epilogue to Will and Hanna’s story and I loved every minute of it. I also enjoyed getting a pick at the other couples in the series. I’m a big fan of Grace Grant and Sebastian York’s work on the Beautiful Bastard series. They both bring out […]

Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren

I’m a die hard fan of the writing team of Christian Lauren. I’ve loved every book I’ve read/listen to, by the author duo and *Wicked Sexy Liar is no different.  For a long time, the summary of Wicked Sexy Liar wasn’t up on Goodreads so I wasn’t sure who the book was going to be about, I just knew I wanted to read it. I thought by the title that it might be about Not-Joe, the mystery surfer/stoner that works for Oliver in Dark Wild Night. Because I know there is more to Not-Joe so I thought “Liar” in the title was about him and how he lies about who he really is under his goofball exterior. So I was surprised that So I […]

Finn and Harlow are the couple to beat in the Wild Seasons series! I just loved them. Finn is the strong and silent type while Harlow is the gal in the group that’s loud and talks on and on. Finn may be quite, but that lumberjack fisherman knows his way around ropes and not just on his family’s fishing boats. “Finn could break your vagina and be just handy enough to put it back together.” Like the others in this motley crew of friends, Harlow and Finn got married in Vegas one drunken weekend. They had the best sex ever and then parted ways to live their lives. But Harlow wanted to make sure that the drunken night was real and her Canadian […]

I MUST get my hands on everything that Christina Lauren writes!   I’m going to start by saying that I’ve never found a Frenchman sexy before. I mean the accent has never done anything for me, not like say a Scottish accent. When I hear a French accent on a guy I think girly. So I was so glad that Shayna Thibodeaux voiced Ansel with a very low-key accent. That was probably due to the fact that Ansel has an American mother so his English is very good. The only time the French really comes into play is when he is speaking French or in a few words when speaking English. Shayna’s narration and Christina Lauren’s writing made me form my first crush on a Frenchman.
