Hunters of the supernatural, the Execution Underground are an elite group tasked with protecting humanity...but at what price?
As an exorcist, David Aronowitz grew up the target of demonic assassins. Now he’s a member of the Execution Underground and hellspawn everywhere fear his name. But when a demon slips into the seductive body of the only woman he’s ever loved, David must confront the heartbreak of their past to save her.
The piece of her heart Allsún O’Hare gave to David so long ago left her trapped between two worlds: the Fae and the human. And when David comes to her rescue, fate reunites her with her greatest temptation—and her biggest mistake.
Now, as they’re swept together into a wicked game with the demon who controls her, David must decide if saving Allsún’s life is worth sacrificing his own—and the future of humanity itself.
For today’s guest post paranormal romance author Kait Ballenger sat down for a short chat with David Aronowitz, hero of Immortal Hunter, the second and newest release in her debut Execution Underground series! Check it out!
Kait opens her notebook and clicks her pen, before smiling up at the hulk of a man sitting across the table from her. David is 6’6, towering over Kait even while sitting, and is anything but weak. From the thin line his lips are forming, he’s clearly less-than-thrilled to be in his current position.
Kait smiles. “It’s nice to see you again, David. You look well.”
David gives a single nod. “I’m alright. Just ready to get the questions over with.”
“It’s not going to be that bad.” Kait scrawls the words “character interview” at the top of the blank page in front of her.
David let out a huff and shakes his head. “Would you want to answer questions formulated by someone who knows everything about you…in public?”
Kait blushes. “Well no, but—”
“—My point exactly.” David shoots her a sharp look.
Kait sighs. “I don’t know why you have such an aversion to me, David, but we’ll just hurry up and get this over with. I promise it will be quick and painless.” She positions her pen, ready to write. “First question: can you tell us a little about your job description?”
David sits back in his chair, arms folded over his muscled chest. “I’m a demon hunter and exorcist for the Execution Underground. My job as a hunter is to send demonic scum straight back to hell.”
Kait nods, like she’s heard this plenty of times before. “And you’re excellent at your job. When you’re working, what’s your weapon of choice?”
“I’m particularly fond of my dagger,” David says.
Kait begins to take notes. “What do you think of your leader, Damon Brock?”
David frowns. “Come on now. I can’t answer that. Anything I tell you, you’ll just tell Damon.”
Kait returns his frown. “Since when have I told your secrets to Damon?”
David’s face softens some. “Okay, well never, but it’s not like you haven’t already told all the details of my love life to the general public.”
Kait rolls her eyes. “You’d think you’d have gotten over this by now. Anyway, moving on. What is your worst nightmare?”
“That’s a simple one. Losing Allsún.”
Kait nods, before glancing up from her notes. “Okay, just one more.” She grins. “Can we talk about your dirty little secret?”
“Damn it, Kait, you said this would be painless.”
“Oh, come on, David, how could I resist?” Kait makes a pouty face.
David shakes his head. “No. I will not tell the whole world about this again.” He moves to stand.
“I could tell them something worse,” Kait threatens.
David pauses, mid-stand, before taking his seat again. “You wouldn’t.”
Kait flashes a devious grin. “Oh, I would.”
David scowls. “Fine. I love reading romance novels, super girly happily-ever-after romance novels. You happy?”
Kait nods and jots his last words down on her paper.
Pushing back his chair, David moves to stand. “I’m out of here.” He turns to leave, but then pauses. He turns back toward Kait. “But for the record, one day, I will make sure the whole world finds out that you and Jace like to get rip-roaring drunk and then dance around your house in your damn underwear.”
Kait’s face flushes every shade of red on the color-spectrum. David smiles with satisfaction before walking out.
