The second sexy and suspenseful book in New York Times bestselling author Laura Kaye's Raven Riders motorcycle club series. Brotherhood. Club. Family. They live and ride by their own rules. These are the Raven Riders... Maverick Rylan won't apologize for who he is--the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club Vice-President, a sought-after custom bike builder, and a man dedicated to protecting those he loves. So when he learns that the only woman who has ever held his heart is in trouble, he'll move heaven and earth to save her.Alexa Harmon thought she had it all--the security of a good job, a beautiful home, and a powerful, charming fiance who offered the life she never had growing up. But when her dream quickly turns into a nightmare, Alexa realizes she's fallen for a facade she can't escape-until sexy, dangerous Maverick offers her a way out.Forced together to keep Alexa safe, their powerful attraction reignites and Maverick determines to do whatever it takes to earn a second chance--one Alexa is tempted to give. But her ex-fiance isn't going to let her go without a fight, one that will threaten everything they both hold dear.

I love this Rough Riders series where the club is a family who protects their own and others in trouble.  Each book features a different couple. Sexy times are hot! Because they are protecting others, abuse and other illegal acts often happen within the stories. Laura Kaye has a way of making the sexual tension build as well as the action / suspense. Generally while the characters have had tough times or made mistakes, they are strong and smart, both the males and females. I appreciate not having whiny or entitled main characters.

Ride Rough is a second chance romance. This couple, Maverick and Alexa were together when they were young.  Now Alexa is in trouble and Maverick and his club are all about protection. Maverick never gave up on her and now he has another chance. I was worried about Alexa and how she let herself fall into a routine that made me shudder. With anything, it is easy to fall off track when the change is gradual. She has family issues which take lots of time and energy, too.

Abby Craden IS the voice of these Laura Kaye series. Her sultry tone fits the sexy style of the strong alpha guys in the motorcycle club and special ops stories. I love the way she voices the characters. Each one is distinct.

It was great to see all the other club members as well as the couple from the first book, Ride Hard, Dare and Haven,There was also some interaction with the special ops team. It just adds to my comfort of being in this familiar, loved world.  I’m really looking forward to Cora’s story next in Ride Wild, available October 31, 2017.

Hard to Let Go by Laura Kaye

Hard to Let Go by Laura Kaye

Hard to Let Go by Laura Kaye is a prefect ending to her Hard Ink series. If you haven’t read Kaye’s Hard Ink series you should start with book 1, Hard As It Gets since the series focuses on the story arc of the guys clearing their name from an event that happened while they were in the army together. And with the series being a relative short one you can play catch up quickly. We’ve followed the guys and gals of Hard Ink through action, danger and mystery to get to the collective HEA of everyone. And in Hard to Let Go Laura Kaye pulls out all the stops. I’d have to say that Kat and Beckett are my favorite couple and […]

Best in the Series! Hard to Come By by Laura Kaye

It just blows my mind that this series’ time line is just a couple of weeks. There is so much going on that it feels like it should be longer. This band of brothers are getting closer to taking down the bad guys and the plot thickens. Just when they think they know what they are up against new information comes to light. Laura Kaye has written a great romantic suspense series. She continues to hold my attention with fast plot lines and sexy romances. Speaking of sexy romances, Marz. WTH?! I had no idea he was going to be my fave. WOW What a sweet heart and dirty talker. Marz it total swoon worthy. He is the heart of group. Anytime the […]

Hard As You Can picks right up where Hard As It Gets left off with the guys grabbing Charlie from a sleazy strip club where they run into Crystal and there is an instant attraction between her and Shane.  Crystal is trapped in a world of her father’s making. She is working off his debts working as a waitress in a strip club called Confessions. Crystal works hard to save money so she and her little sister, Jenna, can run away. The plan is for Crystal to suffer through her work and relationship with gang-banger, Bruno, for 8 more months until Jenna graduates from college. But Jenna has no idea what Crystal is doing for her. She thinks that Bruno is a great guy until […]

Audio Review: Hard As It Gets by Laura Kaye

First Impression: Hot romance with the right amount of suspense. The Narration: Seraphine Valentine does a good job with the reading and Becca’s voice. But like many female narrators her male voices were just ok. Other than that she did a good job with the over all narration of Hard As It Gets. I had a little problem with the production of part 2 of the audio. There was some choppy parts where it sounded like they may have went back and re-record a few scenes and they didn’t edit the recordings together well. It sounds like a few words were cut. It was a stop and start recording that sounded like when your cable or satellite skips when there’s a storm. It bugged me […]
