We played our roles, told each other lies.

But now Dylan is no longer just a mysterious deep voice on the other end of the line. We’re face-to-face and our relationship is very, very real.

We still have secrets—but so much is crystal clear:

The thrilling danger.

The raw, naked desire.

The need to keep feeling the way he makes me feel. Forever.

Dylan is putting up walls, trying to keep me safe, but he can’t shut me out. He has seen my darkness and rescued me. Now it’s my turn, if only he will let me.

When a book ends on a stunning cliffhanger, the one thing you hope for is the next one doesn’t beat around the bush in resolving the issue. No worries here because the story gets right into it!

The situation involving Annie’s husband was riveting, frightening and tension riddled. The image she created of him didn’t even come close to the reality. It was raw, emotional and dangerous.

I loved how Annie and Dylan further exposed themselves and their vulnerabilities to each other. Both had fascinating histories that defined them and together they struggled to reach some place where they could build something together. These are two of the most complex, intriguing and unpredictable characters I’ve encountered and they’re expertly written.

Be prepared to ride the range of a myriad of emotions in this story. It’s tough but sincere and incredibly authentic. The writing is superb and the secondary characters have already seduced me. There’s no way that this is the end because there’s much more to be told. Yes, we’ve gotten Dylan and Annie’s truths and now I’m ready to explore those important in their world.

About M. O’Keefe

Molly O’Keefe has always known she wanted to be a writer (except when she wanted to be a florist or a chef and the brief period of time when she considered being a cowgirl). And once she got her hands on some romances, she knew exactly what she wanted to write.

She published her first Harlequin romance at age 25 and hasn’t looked back. She loves exploring every character’s road towards happily ever after.

Originally from a small town outside of Chicago, she went to university in St. Louis where she met and fell in love with the editor of her school newspaper. They followed each other around the world for several years and finally got married and settled down in Toronto, Ontario. They welcomed their son into their family in 2006, and their daughter in 2008. When she’s not at the park or cleaning up the toy room, Molly is working hard on her next novel, trying to exercise, stalking Tina Fey on the internet and dreaming of the day she can finish a cup of coffee without interruption.

The story is told from the first person point of view of Annie McKay, a young woman who is obviously hiding out from something or someone. She’s living in a camping trailer in a rundown trailer park near Cherokee, North Carolina. Her personal circumstances are revealed slowly through conversations she has with a man she only knows as Dylan who was the voice on the other end of a cell phone that was left in the camper by the previous renter. We also get Dylan’s perspective in a third person narrative making this an intriguing exploration of two very compelling characters.   I loved this incredibly complex and compelling story of two people drawn to each other by chance. Through their conversations, we […]

I wish I could write something so perfectly sexy and broken and personal and smart, popular and totally outside the box at the same time. I love love love this music.
