Molly Harper brings her signature “clever humor, snark, silliness, and endearing protagonists” (Booklist) to the charming small town of Lake Sackett, Georgia with the new Southern Eclectic series.

Carl and Marianne were high school sweethearts, loving the way only teenagers can—with no thought to logic or pride, just a bone-headed, optimistic frenzy of unicorns and hormones. That was all they needed. Or so Carl thought.

Scared of being stuck in Lake Sackett, Georgia, like so many of her friends—without a real shot at a future or achieving her own dreams—Marianne panicked and bolted to college after stomping Carl’s heart into the high grass. But when she returns to Lake Sackett for the summer with her family after years away, she and Carl are drawn together like moths to a flame. As they rekindle their old romance and remember what it was like to be in love, they have to wonder: is this, finally, their real chance at happiness?

read it, track reviews are a way  to track books for my reading challenges and they will be super short

Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck was the hush puppy to the big catfish buffet that’s about to happen when the rest of Molly Harper’s new contemporary series, Southern Eclectic hits the bookshelves. This novella did what all starters for new series should. It set up the town and the people in it. Wither Harper is writing about vampires, naked werewolves or other plain Jane humans in some of her other contemporary romances the flavor is the same. Heart. Snark. Laughs. Sexy.

Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck was an enjoyable fast read that has me wanting more from the Southern Eclectic series. I recommend it to Harper fans (no fangs or fur required).

The Accidental Sire by Molly Harper

The Accidental Sire by Molly Harper

I have enjoyed everything I have read by Molly Harper because of the humor. Plus, the books I have read all have Dick Cheney and I love him! The Accidental Sire features Gigi’s old boyfriend, Ben, and one of Olivia’s college friends, Meagan. It starts at the college and moves on to Half Moon Hollow. Happily, it has characters from both places. I really liked Meagan and how she adapted herself. Ben has always been kind of too good to be true and he still has that feel.  They are both college students and just starting their lives and it’s wonderful to see how they grow. I was really happy to see Olivia, Jane, Dick (of course!), Iris, Libby, […]

Big Vamp on Campus by Molly Harper

Big Vamp on Campus by Molly Harper

This is a special review which is akin to Jennifer’s Read It, Track It where I am reading books for the COYER Winter Storm Challenge. The Half-Moon Hollow series has been somewhat hit or miss for me. But what is always a home run is Molly Harper’s humor and the narration of Amanda Ronconi. And Dick Cheney.  I did read Big Vamp on Campus rather than listening, but I may go back and add the audio. I enjoyed learning more about Ophelia. Her reaction to college life and developing personal relationships is interesting and understandable. I don’t feel like I know Jamie very well and consequently I don’t care about him too much. I’m not sure why some girls become her friend but […]

Where the Wild Things Bite by Molly Harper

Where the Wild Things Bite by Molly Harper

Read It, Track It Is A Way For Me To Track Books For My Reading Challenges And The Reviews Will Be Super Short. Where the Wild Things Bite is a fun romp through the horrors of camping in Kentucky with a bookworm heroine and a sexy, yet shady vampire hero being chased after some backwoods shifters with nefarious plans. Fans of the author/narrator pairing of Harper and Ronconi will be fully entertained by the audio production of Where the Wild Things Bite. About Amanda Ronconi Amanda is an actress and narrator who divides her time between New York City and Upstate New York. She has a BFA from NYU where she studied at the Stella Adler Conservatory. She has performed in theaters around New York City and […]

Fangs for the Memories by Molly Harper

Fangs for the Memories by Molly Harper

I’m a big fan of Dick  . . . Dick Cheney . . . the vampire Dick Cheney. Fangs for the Memories is an over due novella about Dick and Andrea while it’s labeled as being part of the Half-Moon Hollow series it should have come a couple of years ago in the Jane Jameson series. But since we get cameos from Jane and the gang in the Half-Moon Hollow series I guess it’s ok. If you’ve not read Harper’s Jane Jameson series you might not get as much enjoyment out of Fangs for the Memories because it goes back a couple of years and shows us how Dick and Andrea become a couple.  Fans know that Dick Cheney is a shading character that can […]

The Single Undead Moms Club by Molly Harper

The Single Undead Moms Club by Molly Harper

The Single Undead Moms Club is classic Molly Harper, romance with a bite of snark. This is my second time reading a Molly Harper book. I usually listen to them because I love her narrator, Amanda Ronconi. But since I’m on a budget and received a print copy for review I tried reading The Single Undead Moms Club. It was just as fun in print, even though I missed Ronconi’s voice delivering Harper’s snarky humor. It’s always fun seeing cameos from Jane and Dick. Seeing them in the new roles with the vampire council was a treat. Although I would have liked to see more of Dick but I have Fangs for the Memories to read next so I’ll get my Dick fix (wow that doesn’t say […]

The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire by Molly Harper

The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire by Molly Harper

The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire is the follow-up to the short I’m Dreaming of an Undead Christmas. First Thought: Seriously any author that can work in references to Daryl Dixon, Soft Kitty, My Little Pony (especially Rainbow Dash) and Dr Who into a paranormal romance it they not sounded forced is an author you should be reading! Gigi aka the human, computer geek: Gigi is the younger sister of Iris from The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires. Gigi was raised in part by Iris after their parents’ death. Iris runs a business that works with vampires and now Iris is one herself. So Gigi is no stranger to a life with vampires. In fact being a human has put her in the minority of […]

Molly Harper Stops by to Talk About Her Bluegrass series

Molly Harper Stops by to Talk About Her Bluegrass series

Welcome back to The Book Nympho. I say welcome back because you’ve been here through two blogging events, Stomp vs Romp in 2012 and Mistletoe Madness last year but this is your first interview. I’ll try to keep the questions as conformable as possible. No awkward questions about salads… (via Twitter). (Molly silently shakes her head in agreement.)     Anyway, my readers know that I’m a huge fan of your books, especially on audio. So let’s start with an audio question. Amanda Ronconi narrates all of your books (and she is fantastic!), whether it’s in your Jane Jameson series, Naked Werewolf series or any of your contemporary books like the Bluegrass series. Do you as the author have a say in who narrates your books or is that strictly […]
