Loyalties are tested and passions ignite as Rowena and Scott race to complete A SEAL's MISSION.

Quick summary
Rowena Murphy, investigative reporter for a major television news channel, is embedded with a unit in Afghanistan when she’s kidnapped in the middle of the night. A Navy SEAL team is dispatched to rescue her, led by Scott Ranger who actually is the one to first reach her. Six months later, he can’t get her out of his head and she’s launched a search to find and thank him for saving her from what would have been certain death. But she’s got other reasons for seeking him out…Rowena is convinced that the story she was working on got her dispatched to Afghanistan to ultimately end the investigation and her life. Maybe, just maybe she can trust her rescuer to help her get answers.

The mystery and suspense
This story moves at breakneck speed. Rowena and Scott first have to figure out if they can trust each other, then who they can work with in their networks that wouldn’t be compromised. If their theories are correct, politicians at the highest level of government are involved. She’s got killer instincts and Scott’s got those SEAL skills so they make a formidable pair. They are a fantastic team. My brain worked overtime trying to keep up with the changing landscape of suspects and motives.

The romance
These two obviously felt a connection when Rowena was first rescued by Scott and they didn’t really try to ignore it or pretend it wasn’t there with each other. Both had reasons to believe they wouldn’t make good relationship candidates but were willing to go with it while it lasted. I liked their relationship a lot, especially as their brains connected on a high level, making the romance more interesting. Great couple on so many levels.

The bottom line
I very much liked the first book but loved this one. The romance and suspense were pretty evenly balanced here, maybe a tiny nod to the suspense. Things just MOVED! Rowena and Scott were just nicely developed characters without any silliness or protracted issues to bog the story down. There were a few surprises in the end that capped off the mystery and there’s another character I got interested in who Rachel promises has the next story. You’ll just have to read it to know who I’m talking about. I’m enjoying this series and inadvertently skipped the prequel so I’ll be reading that shortly.
