What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...
until someone ends up married.
Michael Shawcross is living the dream, opening up for his idols, Oblivion, on his band Warning Sign’s first tour. Until an overzealous fan goes too far and his hard-partying ways catch up to him in the form of an ultimatum from his manager, Lila Crandall.

Clean up your image—or else.

Single mom Chloe Adams is in Vegas for a rare girls’ night out. She wasn’t ever supposed to be attracted to another rockstar. In fact, she’s in rockstar rehab, and the cure for her addiction definitely isn't a sexy, smart-assed guitarist with wicked fingers.

She never expects to accidentally end up his wife. Or to have her new husband suddenly decide that she’s the solution to all his problems. And surprise…he’s happy to show his appreciation in a number of interesting, inventive ways.

Pretending their marriage is real might just be the hottest proposition she’s ever been given.

But what happens when a lie becomes the truth?

Michael Shawcross is the lead guitarist for the band Warning Sign and his personal life is getting too much notoriety. He’s no real bad boy but his freewheeling “love life” is causing trouble as he takes advantage of the groupie pool. That is until one night, during a performance in Las Vegas, he has a fiery, heart-grabbing connection with Chloe Adams. She’s a single mother of a 2-year old toddler and the ex-fiancée of Snake, Oblivion’s former troublesome drummer. What happens next doesn’t stay in Vegas!

These two on the surface don’t appear to be compatible at all but who knew Michael craved so desperately what Chloe brings to the party. She was on a rare getaway from her struggling-to-make-ends-meet world and son. It was just their time as this wasn’t the first time they’d met but neither could resist each other. While it seemed lust at first sight, these two had a true heart connection that took time to develop into a relationship of substance. And, Chloe’s son Axl just brought cuteness in every one of his scenes, even when it was a terrible twos tantrum.

Michael is somewhat of an acquired taste and it took a bit for me to warm up to him. But, in the end, he’s just irresistible. Chloe is just wonderful in her devotion and commitment to her son. Their opposites brought out the very best in each other. Be forewarned, though, that their interludes burn up the pages. I was worried about reading this before finishing the Lost in Oblivion series (I’ve two books to go) but it was not an issue. I enjoyed seeing members of that band making appearances here and loved everything about this wonderful story.

About Cari Quinn

USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn wrote her first story—a bible parable—in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. Now she gets to pen sexy romances for a living and routinely counts her lucky stars. When she’s not scribbling furiously, she can usually be found watching men’s college basketball, playing her music way too loud or causing trouble. Sometimes simultaneous

The last book had an explosive and scary ending. It also had drawn me to the seductive Simon Kagan, a talented manwhore who is now a one-woman man. He and Margo Reece had formed a somewhat tenuous relationship but now they’re forced to hang on to each other. Both of their lives now seem to hang in the balance.   One of the things I loved about this story was the introspective Simon. In the past, he was the carefree one who took his voice for granted. Now, with his health issues threatening to derail the band, Simon shows us his more serious side but never losing the essence of what makes him special and unique. I thought Margo would be the stabilizer […]

I Was Slayed! Destroyed by Taryn Elliott & Cari Quinn

I approached reading this book with a bit of apprehension as Simon Kagan is the manwhore of Oblivion, the rock band at the center of the series. How in the world do you transform someone like him, who makes no excuses for and loves his lifestyle, to someone even remotely interested in a committed relationship? With care and authenticity and that’s in abundance here.   Simon loves his fans, loves women and lives having sex with them. Until his random sexual encounter with Violin Girl, Margo Reece, none of his past exploits left any memorable impressions. Something about her cool, conservative nature was alluring and maybe because she didn’t want anything from him but sex made a big difference. Margo’s not a fangirl […]

Soul Wrenching! Edge of Forever by Taryn Elliott

Soul Wrenching! Edge of Forever by Taryn Elliott

This is the final story in the trilogy. The last book ended with a catastrophic event that forever altered Bella’s life and seriously injured her. Logan takes extreme measures to ensure her safety while she heals emotionally and physically. Recovery from traumatic events isn’t simple or easy no matter how many resources you have available and this story nails the point. Logan’s commitment to Bella is unshakeable though she tests it constantly. I loved getting both of their points of view and Bella’s was simply heart wrenching. I was swept up in their struggle to find their way out of despair. The source of all the trauma and suspense was always in the background and I felt that tension throughout the entire story. The climax […]

And Now the Romance! Bulletproof Weeks by Taryn Elliott

Just a quick update before the third and final book in this story   The story continues with Bella and Logan still separate but the circumstances that bring them together was interesting and not protracted.   Here we get a chance to experience their romance and Logan finding himself in his music again. There’s plenty of steam and sizzle but more of the dynamic of their relationship emerges. Always in the background, though, is the threat called Aimee.   It all ends on a serious, I mean huge, cliffhanger. It’s also a shame that I must wait a couple of weeks to learn the outcome. To say more would be spoiler-ish and I’m beyond hooked on this series.

Books & Music Rock! Anything But Mine by Taryn Elliott

This series has one story arc and my recommendation is to prepare to read the books back to back   A bit of background Isabella (Bella) Grace owns a rare bookstore with her two best (married) friends in upstate New York. She’s trying to change the course of her life, being less the wild child of her youth, and heads the planning committee for this year’s Summer Festival. No pressure there even though the headliner is famous rock band singer Logan King. Logan King returns each year to Winchester Falls because the place is his touchstone. He owns a place there but this year is different as more so than any other time, he needs the peace and tranquillity it always provides.   The […]

Gray & Jazz Part Deux! Untwisted by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott

Gray & Jazz Part Deux! Untwisted by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott

Gray Duffy is out of rehab and is working hard to make up the time lost in the studio. Jazz is adjusting to her biological changes from her pregnancy and really is missing Gray as he works long hours. A surprise from her past completely uproots her as they also try to make wedding plans. Though it’s a short story it covers a lot of ground. Gray and Jazz’s issues are pretty realistic, especially as he deals with the realities of fighting addiction. But at the heart of it all, their relationship is pretty wonderful, grounded in history and mostly unwavering trust. I loved getting this little sliver of what’s next for these two. Short, complicated, sexy and sweet. I’m still crazy about Gray.

Gray is My New Favorite Color! Twisted by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott

Please don’t read this if you haven’t read the prequel! A little background Gray Duffy has loved Jazz Edwards from the moment she came into his life as his foster sister and she with him, too. Neither has ever let the other know this even though they acknowledge they care deeply for each other as foster siblings. They’ve just botched every opportunity to connect but now just might be the time for them to finally be on the same page. Why I LOVED this story What an incredible story! Poor Gray was understandably haunted by that wretched threesome he had to participate in with Jazz and Nick, him being more of the bystander. Using coke to cope might have provided temporary relief but it was […]
