Under Her Skin by Adriana Anders

Under Her Skin by Adriana Anders

Under Her Skin by Adriana Anders is a great debut novel in her Blank Canvas series!   Reasons to read Under Her Skin Ivan – bearded, blacksmith neighbor who looks dangerous but has a heart of gold Uma – on the run from abusive ex but stays strong through her road to recovery Ms. Loyd – old hag that needs love and friendship Romance novel wrapped in mystery, suspense and the dark and light sides of love Uma’s past wouldn’t have allowed for an instant hook up and I’m really like how the romance element was the main focus until about half way through the story. The romance between Ivan and Uma was a slow burn something both of them needed. These characters were hunted and […]

read it, track it is a way for me to track books for my reading challenges and the reviews will be super short. Anne reviewed Any Time, Any Place already so I’ll keep my review short. The second book in Probst’s Billionaire Builders focuses Dalton Pierce, the brother of the hero of the first book, Everywhere and Every Way. Dalton spent some time away from the family business and home in California but after the events in the first book he came home and now he trying to show his brothers he is not the flake they think he is. He’s serious about his wood work but never serious about a relationship with the ladies. Raven is connected with the Pierce brothers from the past but they […]

Audio Review: The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken

Audio Review: The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken

This is a modern day Cinderella story. Which means it is a classic billionaire guy rescues penniless gal. This is not my favorite troupe. At All. I was offered both the ebook and the audio for review and decided on the audio. So how did this work out? I was pleased with The Bachelor Auction mostly. The characters were either well-developed or overblown caricatures of a cliche type. Our Cinderella, Jane, is easy to love. She is hard-working, kind, compassionate and honest, even when treated badly. Her sisters are unrealistic stereotypes but it works. Our prince charming, Brock, isn’t a bad guy either. He’s always been a serious hard worker, trying to do what’s right for his family. His […]

In just one day, Annie Anderson’s life turned sideways and then completely upside down when she comes home early, finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman. If that wasn’t sad enough, she ends up losing her new job on the first day. And yet it gets worse. When she goes away for a much needed excursion to a fabulous island with her friends, who shows up there but the cheating ex and his gorgeous arm candy.   As bad as Annie’s day from hell was, it was related in such a way that I couldn’t stop laughing. While my heart broke for her, Annie’s story is so cleverly written that I also found the humor in the situation. The escapades during the […]

This was better than I expected, better than the first one, Everywhere and Every Way.  In spite of the fact it is the Billionaire Builders series, even though the brothers have money, they work hard for it and with integrity.  I generally don’t like the billionaire troupe, especially with the penniless virgin he rescues. Thankfully, this author features strong women who are smart and capable. The women have their own lives, are doing well and not waiting for a man to make them complete. Any Time, Any Place was more emotional for me. This may be because the characters were more familiar or just the plot revealing more about the mystery of their mother’s death. This couple, Dalton and Raven, were adults and generally […]

Release Day Review: Accidentally On Purpose by Jill Shalvis

Release Day Review: Accidentally On Purpose by Jill Shalvis

This Heartbreaker Bay series has been consistently good, if not too realistic in some aspects. Jill Shalvis is an auto-buy author since I enjoy everything she writes. I looked forward to the story of Archer and Elle. Their tension had built through the last two books as a side aspect. We reviewed those two books,  Sweet Little Lies and The Trouble with Mistletoe, plus the novella,  One Snowy Night. Accidentally On Purpose is Elle and Archer focused. Two changes throw things into gear. First, Elle decides to admit to herself Archer will never want her and she begins to date. Second, their past comes roaring back into the present in the form of Elle’s sister and the situations which caused them to meet. It […]

The team of Blakely and York never fails to entertain! Hot doctor and sweet baker that’s Chase and Josie. Worth the Wait by Claudia Connor

Nick Walker had to grow up fast following the death of his parents. He took on raising his three teenaged brothers and his two-year old sister while he was enrolled in college. In the middle of this chaos, he meets and falls in love with Mia James. Theirs is an epic romance…until tragedy strikes some years later and he lets her walk away. It’s been ten years and suddenly they find themselves face to face for the first time.   This is not your typical second-chance romance with easy issues to overcome the next time around. You’ll fall hard for Nick and then want to strangle him. Mia is sort of a mystery until her story unfolds and then you struggle to not […]
