Joy Ride by Lauren Blakely

Joy Ride by Lauren Blakely

I love jumping into a Lauren Blakely novel! I know any time I pick up a romance by Lauren Blakely that I’m going to laugh, swoon and possibly cry (mostly from the laughter but there’s some touching moments too). Joy Ride delivers like all the other novels by Blakely I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing so far. I must confuse I usually listen since  Sebastian York is her usual narrator but I couldn’t wait to dive into Henley and Max’s story. But you know what, I totally heard York’s voice in my head as I read Joy Ride and I will at some point purchase the audio format and listen to it. Her books are excellent and I know that will I find myself in a […]

Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis

Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis

Read it, track reviews are a way  to track books for my reading challenges and they will be super short.            Accidentally on Purpose is the 3rd full length novel in Shalvis’ Hearbreaker Bay series and we met the couple earlier in the series. Elle and Archer is THAT COUPLE in the series that you knew was going to end up together, but you had to wait for their story while getting peeks into them as secondary characters. Archer and Elle have a past where he saved her life one night. Ever since she has hoped that he would see her as the woman she grew up to be and not the teenager he saved. Archer does not think he’s good enough […]

A Notion of Love by Abbie Williams

A Notion of Love by Abbie Williams

The first two books in this series begin with the end of Joelle Gordon’s marriage to Jackie. Her sister, Jilly Henriksen, is a widow with a son and she’s just beginning a relationship with Justin Miller. I’m so delighted that this story begins at the beginning…when both were still in high school and just starting their relationships with their first loves.   In order to understand Jilly and Justin’s relationship, it was important to know about how they got there. This wasn’t just about the two of them but the community of family in Landon, Minnesota. It’s rich with stories of the women and men who shaped and influenced them, let alone the developing romances of all of them.   It’s tricky to […]

The Thing About Love by Julie James

The Thing About Love by Julie James

The Thing About Love is my second Julie James book but I have all of her books on my TBR. Especially her  FBI/US Attorney series. After reading The Thing About Love I had a feeling that Nick McCall, John’s boss was a possible main character in one of the books from that series. He is the hero of the book 2, A Lot Like Love so I will definitely be binge reading/listen to the series since I own all of them on audio. The Thing About Love is a great romance where the heroine, Jessica and the hero John have a past where they don’t really like each other. Six years ago they went through the FBI Academy where they had different ideas about their […]

Master Professor by Tara Sue Me

Master Professor by Tara Sue Me

Master Professor hit all my romance buttons and keep me reading non-stop to the end. I love a great D/s romance but when you through in a forbidden elemental into it, it’s all more enjoyable. Tara Sue Me does this with the first book, Master Professor, in her Lesson From the RACK series. I really enjoyed how Andie and Fulton’s relationship slowly built with a slow burn that lead up to a HEA. Andie is a 23 year-old virgin (I know but trust me it’s not a huge issue) who is in love with her best friend, Terrence. He is a big Hollywood actor and off on location a lot. They have been friends for years and their friendship has slowly moved into […]

Falling Hard by Pamela Clare

Falling Hard by Pamela Clare

RN Ellie Meeks is a widow with 2-year twins (almost 3) who were born after her husband died in Iraq. It’s been almost four years now and though her mind tells her she’s ready her heart isn’t ready to let go of husband Dan. Enter neighbor Jesse Moretti, a former Army Ranger now a volunteer member of the Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team who works for the Ski Resort as a patroller. He definitely claims her head and starts chipping away at her heart.   I really liked this story primarily because of the main characters, Ellie and Jesse. There’s so much to admire about both of them and together, they were even more likable. Their burgeoning relationship was honest (to a […]

Making Waves by Laura Moore

Making Waves by Laura Moore

Dakota Hale was born and raised in the Hamptons in New York. Though she’s part of an upper crust family, she’s nothing like her family, making it on her own sans a trust fund. When her concierge service company is hired by Max Carr to service his new home, Dakota’s life takes a turn down a path she never predicted.   This story grabbed me after the first few pages and refused to let go until the end. Dakota is one of the more interesting characters I’ve read in some time. She’s a contradiction, skilled and adept in her professional life and anything but when in the midst of her highly toxic and self absorbed family. On the surface (and to some degree, […]

By Her Touch by Adriana Anders

By Her Touch by Adriana Anders

Adriana Anders did it again! She grabbed me with her characters and their stories making me part of their lives. By Her Touch is the second book the in the Blank Canvas series, a series that I’ve highly enjoyed. You can easily read By Her Touch without having read, Under Her Skin. Couple characters make cameos but you won’t be lost. Although I recommend you start with Under Her Skin because it’s a great read as well and helps sets the tone for the town and people living in it. Anders writes emotional stories with fantastic characters. By Her Touch is another romance wrapped around a dark story where the hero is on the run for his life. He’s an undercover agent who’s trying to […]
