He can protect anything except his heart

Leese Phelps’s road hasn’t been an easy one, but it’s brought him to the perfect job — working for the elite Body Armor security agency. And what his newest assignment lacks in size, she makes up for in fire and backbone. But being drawn to Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, especially since it could be the very man who hired Leese who’s threatening her.

What Catalina knows could get her killed. But who’d believe the sordid truth about her powerful stepfather? Beyond Leese’s ripped body and brooding gaze is a man of impeccable honour. He’s the last person she expects to trust — and the first who’s ever made her feel safe. And he’s the only one who can help her expose a deadly secret, if they can just stay alive long enough...

I was worried when I finished reading the last book Foster’s Ultimate series the “leftover” guy would not  get their own stories. I was happy to find out Mrs. Foster wasn’t going to leave them hanging. The Body Armor series is a spin-off of the Ultimate series.

Leese started out as a douche bag in the Ultimate series, but he turn around quick to be one of the good guys before that series ended. Now he’s back as the hero of his own story. Leese is the first guy from the fight group to branch out into security work and it really suits him. Of course he breaks the cardinal rule and falls for the woman he is hired to project.

Catalina (Cat) is on the run because of something she overheard. She’s from a rich family but wants nothing do to with that life. She has an instant attraction to the body-guard who shows up at the right time in order to help her from a small danger. As Leese keeps Cat safe from a larger danger, they fall for each.

Under Pressure is a nice mix of suspense and romance.

I don’t know why the publishers pick male narrators for Foster’s novels. Maybe they are going for the male’s POV but the stories aren’t necessarily written all from the hero’s POV. I almost switched to the ebook because Alexander Cendese’s female voices drove me nuts. He has one of those deep voice that’s suited for  “I’m Batman” or the movie voiceover guy who says “In a world…”, the females sounded like a drag queens. LOL He has a nice voice but he may be more suited for a different genre with no female voices.

Playing it safe has never felt so dangerous…

Justice Wallington knows how to harness his strength and intimidating size—skills he put to good use first in the MMA cage, and now as a bodyguard at the Body Armor agency. But no opponent has ever left him feeling as off balance as his new client, heiress Fallon Wade. Far from a spoiled princess, she's sweet and intriguingly innocent. It's a risk-free assignment, until he's required to fake a relationship with her in order to blend in.

Sheltered from the world after a family tragedy, Fallon longs to experience life—going to bars, dancing, talking to strangers. Not easy with a huge, lethal-looking bodyguard shadowing her every move. Justice seems like her polar opposite, but pretending to be a couple stirs undeniable heat. And when danger strikes again, it's not just her safety in jeopardy, but a passion that's real, raw and absolutely against the rules…

Justice is another guy introduced in the Ultimate series and like Leese he left the MMA fight scene to work in security. I was intrigued by Justice since the first time he hit the page in the Ultimate series and that intrigue grew seeing him as a secondary leading character in Under Pressure.

Justice is a huge, scary looking guy. Of course his woman would be the opposite of him. But once you get past both their books they are alike on the inside. They have huge hearts and seeing them fall for each other was sweet and sexy.

Hard Justice continues the mix of suspense and romance.

While I’m still not in love with Alexander Cendese’s female voices, I am learning to get past it to enjoy his performance. I liked his portrayal of Justice.

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

There's no resisting a desire like this....

MMA fighter Miles Dartman's casual arrangement with personal shopper Maxi Nevar would be many men's fantasy. She seeks him out, they have mind-blowing sex, she leaves. Rinse, repeat. Yet, lately, Miles wants more. And when Maxi requests his services via the Body Armor security agency, he's ready to finally break through her defenses - and protect her day and night.

Receiving a large inheritance has brought chaos and uncertainty into Maxi's life. Her ex has resurfaced, along with lots of former "friends", and someone is making mysterious threats. Then there's Miles, who doesn't ask for anything...except her trust. Pleasure is easy. Now, Maxi has to give her heart as well as her body...or risk losing a man who could be everything she needs.

I like that each story in the Body Armor series seems to have more suspense than the last. Plus the fact this couple knew each other before hand makes the sexy times more believable.

While Justice in Hard Justice has been my favorite guy in this group of friends, Close Contact is my favorite book in the series so far. Why? Miles and Maxi’s romance doesn’t feel like and instant love like the previous couples. They may have only had three “night stands” with each, but they connected on a level neither was sure about until they see each other again two months after Maxi walked out on Miles without a trace.

Seeing Miles and Maxi move past their physical attraction and mind-blowing sex into a trusting and loving relationship was very satisfying. Foster made me care about this couple’s future and had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the bad guy was causing trouble on Maxie’s land.

While Alexander Cendese’s narration on the series has grown on me and I binge listen to catch up on the series. I will read the next book, Fast Burn. The biggest reason being his voice for Sahara Silver, the boss of the Body Armor company is the one that bugs me the most. I need to find her voice for myself when I read because I have a feeling her story with Brand Berry will be a good one.
