four-stars

Ryder is hiding a dark secret from her coworkers at Midnight Liaisons. Every time she’s sexually attracted to a man, her dragon side breaks through. Not exactly man-bait! But she needs to lose her virginity before her twenty-fifth birthday, or she’ll become a dragon forever.

Her solution? Big, hunky Hugh, the appointed guardian of her chastity. He’s clearly hot for her, but he has powerful reasons to resist Ryder. Can temptation—and love—possibly find a way?

First Thought

Sexy virginal cave lovin’.

Ryder

I was excited to get to Ryder’s story, it was going to be my first dragon shifter novel. But Ryder is not a dragon, she’s a changeling. What’s the difference? Not really sure since she has characteristics of a dragon; scales, wings and a tail.

Ryder is a big flirt but she actually has very little experience with men because of her secret. See anytime she is touched by a man she starts to change into her other form. But a fortuneteller told her that her true love will break her “curse”.

Hugh

Hugh is a great character. He’s new to our world. He’s big, quite and kind of yummy. Hugh is working for a Fae that claims to have ownership of Ryder.  The Fae Prince has tasked Hugh with guarding Ryder until her 25th birthday which is only a few weeks away.

As Hugh gets to know Ryder he realizes he doesn’t want to turn her over to the Fae Prince but keep her for himself.

Final Thought

Wanted: Wild Thing is a sexy version of Shrek. LOL Really Ryder and Hugh was a cute and sweet couple, you should check them out.

Narration

I’ve had a print copy of Wanted: Wild Thing for a few months now and was getting to read it when I received the audio from Tantor for review so I went with the audio. Since it took a so long for the audio to be published I assumed they were not going to record it. I guess schedules or something push the production back. Leah Mallach did another good job the narration. She brought Ryder’s perky personality to life and made her super sweet.  Mallach’s southern accent is over the top and that usually bugs me since I’m a southern but it really works for this series and especially for Ryder.

About Leah Mallach

Leah Mallach enjoys the challenge of performing with only her voice. After graduating from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, she embarked on an extensive career in the theater before finding her new love: narrating audiobooks.

About Jessica Sims

Jessica Sims lives in Texas. She has some cats, but what writer doesn’t? She plays video games and confesses to reading comic books. And she likes writing, but that one was pretty obvious.

Jessica also writes under two other names (Jessica Clare & Jill Myles)

Reading this book contributed to these challenges:

First Impression: Another fun and sexy read from Jessica Sims. What I liked: Everything. Marie is a great heroine. She’s strong and sassy. She’s a little naïve when it comes to supes even though she’s worked as Midnight Liaisons for a year. But she keeps to herself and the supes try to keep as much as they can from humans so her naïve about them is understandable. Joshua is just down right sexy. I picture him as Jason Stackhouse in True Blood but with more brains. LOL He’s known as a player, never having a long relationship with one woman. But Marie has him wanting more. And good for her, she makes him work for it. What I didn’t like: Nothing! As far as the […]

First Impression: I want a bear shifter of my own! What I liked: Everything! What’s not to like about a sexy, strong and silent were-bear? Ramsey is the everything that Sara needs. Protector, friend and sexy mate all rolled up into one. Sara has been in hiding from other sups. She was turned against her will into a werewolf by her abusive boyfriend. But at the end of book 1, Beauty Dates the Beast, Sara’s secret about being a werewolf is out of the bag and the local wolf pack is in need of a female. And the fact that Sara hasn’t managed the art of shifting everyone is wondered that she will not last much longer if she doesn’t figure it out. Sara is […]

First Impression: Beauty Dates the Beast is a fun, light and sexy listen from the beginning to the end that has me adding books 2 & 3 to my wish list. What I liked: Beauty Dates the Beast deliver’s on its title. I went in figuring it would be a light and fluffy listen, which is what I was looking for after a long urban fantasy reading/listening binge I’ve been on. Jessica Sims does an outstanding job bring fun characters to life with a touch of sexy and mystery. What I didn’t like: The heroine’s name…. Bathsheba. Really? Since I listened to the book I thought for the longest the narrator was pronouncing it Bethsheba until someone called her Bath for short. Another thing that had […]
