Lucian and Lia attempt to deal with the aftermath of the violent attack on her by her stepfather. As events unfold in their lives, Lia finds that she can no longer be patient with the man that she loves because his secrets are tearing them apart.

Lucian cannot deny the fact that he's fallen in love with the brave and beautiful woman who has lived a life of horror. He wants nothing more than to protect her, but soon realizes that he may be the person who will hurt her the most.

To be together, they'll have to fight demons from their pasts that threaten to destroy them.

Spoilers for book 1 ahead.

Even though Pierced didn’t blow me away I had to listen to Fractured because of the cliffhanger ending with Lia being attacked by her step-father and Lucian not knowing if she was going to live or not.

Both Lucian and Lia was worried that the other one would not want the other sexually after Lia’s attack. Lia was afraid Lucian wouldn’t see her as sexy after her she told the police want her step-father did to her. Lucian was concerned Lia wouldn’t want him because she would be distressed at the thought of being with him after her attack.

I was enjoying Fractured until all the sex came into the play. I’m over characters being sexy damaged and yet needing sex all the time. I’ve never been raped or sexually assaulted but I’m pretty sure I would not want sex around the clock just days after an attack.

I can see where Lucian and Lia would need two books to wrap up their issues to get to a HEA but I find them having three books a little contrite. They’ve worked through Lia’s issues by the middle of the book and Lucian’s secret could have been handled in the second half. But now we have an extra issue (or no issue we don’t know yet) thrown in to lead us into a third book. I’m ready to move past Lucian and Lia to their friend’s book (or books). I think I’m going to like Rose and Max.

So as I leave you, I’m on the fence about listening to the 3rd book, Mended.

Fractured continues with switches POVs between Lucian and Lia. The first 1/4 of the Fractured is told through Lucian’s POV due to Lia being in the hospital after the events at the end of Pierced.  Lucy Malone’s performance grew on me after a few chapters when I listened to Pierced but I can easily say that I enjoyed Sean Crisden’s performance the best out of the two narrators.

Over all I enjoyed the dual performances of Sean and Lucy and if I continue’s Lucian and Lia’s journey I’ll do it on audio.

The Kindle & Nook editions are free at the time of this review. First Thought Another series about a couple with f’up pasts. BUT Lucian’s is not the kind of past I’ve seen before! The story Rich business man hires escort. Young naive college girl is said escort. I know, I know. Not this troupe again. But really it worked once you got past that and the fact that the rich, god-like guy bosses and stalks gal you end up with a twisted and touching story of two people who need each other. The romance Lucian has been around but he’s not a total manwhore. Lia is not technically a virgin but she might as well be since her exposure to men […]

You guys have seen me gush over this series time and time again. So don’t be surprised when I do it again. Armed & Dangerous is the 5th book in the Cut & Run series and this time around Abigail Roux writes it solo. But have no fear it’s still Ty and Zane at their finest. Honestly I couldn’t really time that much of a difference in the writing. It’s road trip time for Ty and Zane. They are tasked with the job of bring in a CIA asset, Julian Cross. He’s life is in danger from someone in the CIA and the only person that knows who is using a group of CIA personal as assassins for hire is Cross. But he only knows […]

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. I’m starting this review backwards, the end of the book. The END. It had me downloading the next audio, Armed & Dangerous. I usually like to write a review on a book before starting the next in the series so that the storylines don’t blend but after that last sentence I HAD to start A&D and worry about this review later. Ok enough about the ending. I always have a silly smile on my face while listening or reading these books. Ty and Zane have so much chemistry together, whether it be sexual, as work partners or throwing one liners at each other. One of the earlier scenes in Divide & Conquer show them at work and Ty is […]

Everyone keeps telling that each book in this series is better than the last and it’s so true! In Fish & Chips we get to see Ty and Zane have the vacation they should have had in the last book, Sticks & Stone when they were actually on vacation. The two FBI partners have to go undercover as a married gay couple who are involved in an international smuggling ring on a cruise. Neither are very happy about the assignment.  Especially Ty. Ty has to play the boy toy of the marriage and it’s funny to see him go through the waxing, tanning and wardrobe change. Not to mention that Ty tries on the submissive  role to get into character. This only drives Zane crazy […]
