Lynne has not wanted for anything since she began working as Nathaniel and Abby's nanny--until the night they invite her to a group BDSM meeting. The abrupt breakup she had with her last Dom made her turn her back on the lifestyle, but now she's ready to dive back in. When she starts chatting on online BDSM message boards, she's shocked to discover Simon, her former Dom, is a frequent poster--and even more shocked at herself when she creates a secret identity and strikes up a conversation.

After messaging with a mysterious submissive online, Simon forms an immediate connection. Lynne and Simon's D/s relationship grows in intensity, but can their relationship survive after the truth is exposed, and Lynne's identity is laid bare?

The Flirtation is the second book experience with Tara Sue Me and I have to say after loving both books (first was Master Professor) I am now hooked on Tara’s writing style. The Flirtation is 10th book in the Submissive series but it can easily be read as a stand alone. I know because that’s what I did. After loving the world and characters in this installment I will go back and read the other books in the series. I read over the Synopsis for the other books to see what books the secondary characters were in because there were a few couples or references to couples. I want to read all their stories.

Why did I love The Flirtation?

  1. Main characters – Lynne and Simon are both great people I rooted for the whole book.
  2. D/s relationship – I’m really enjoying romances with kind of kink when they are written well.
  3. All the Feels – The story between Lynne and Simon gave me every feeling while reading it.
  4. Hot Sex – But not just hot sex . . . love and respect that went with it.
  5. Sadist / masochist – I’ve read the terms before but never in a BDSM romance and the way Tara wrote them I didn’t feel “icky” about it like I thought I would. I found it every interesting and kind of hot.

I’m excited to read more by Tara Sue Me and I’m lucky that my library has most of her back list. If you are into BDSM romances you should really give her a try.

About Tara Sue Me

Tara Sue Me wrote her first novel at the age of twelve. It would be twenty years before she picked up her pen to write the second.

After completing several clean romances, she decided to try her hand at something spicier and started The Submissive. What began as a writing exercise quickly took on a life of its own. An avid reader of all types of fiction, she soon discovered she enjoyed writing a variety as well.

Tara lives in the Southeastern United States with her family, two dogs, and a cat.

Check out my review on Saturday!   Excerpt Simon stood in front of Lynne and took his belt off, making sure he did it slowly enough that she could hear the leather sliding through the loops of his pants. He didn’t miss the small shiver that shook her body. “You know I’m a sadist?” He hadn’t told her when they were together the last time, and he didn’t want to go any further without being very clear about who he was. “Yes, Sir.” He let one end of the belt hang so just a part of it was in her line of sight. She sucked in a breath. Yes. “Your mind is racing, isn’t it?” he asked. “There’s the part telling you to stand […]

Release Day: Ash and Quill by Rachel Caine with Giveaway

Ash and Quill is the third book in the Great Library series.  I started this journey thanks to Ace Roc stars. I choose to continue.  The world and the characters are familiar and dear. This is not a stand-alone; one needs to read the series in order. The knowledge of the situation builds as it goes along. Tension filled me throughout this read. It’s exciting and interesting and uncertain. The suspense of what will happen is constant. It’s also frustrating, as each book ends after a particular situation,  but it’s still a sort of cliffhanger with not knowing if they will be safe or succeed on any of their goals. As with Paper and Fire, the ending throws our group into […]

College student Allison Trent has serious computer skills, so much that she’s attracted the attention of FBI Special Agent Liam Scott. She got on his radar via her friendship with Jordan Clayborne, his partner Alec Buchanan’s sister. Jordan’s considered an expert herself but even she is awed by Allison’s talents. There’s an internal leak at the agency and Liam needs her to hack their system and identify the source.   The story starts off really interesting with a very compelling history for Allison. She and her sister had a tough start in life and it was inspiring to see them thrive despite their upbringing. I also liked her experiences with the Bureau, including her encounters with sexist behaviors that seem to be a […]

This had all the things needed for a great small town romance. There was a group of women, old friends who had grown up together, all back in town for Emma’s wedding. The two women who don’t live there have family to visit and enjoy in the small town. They have a group of guys who are the best man and groomsmen to do activities with them. The small town has charming restaurants, businesses, and favorite hangouts. There are quirky characters needed in every small town. However, the wedding activities are two weeks worth of planned events. Who can take off two whole weeks? Mac comes from Chicago to Maine and stays with her fun aunts in the […]

Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy

Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy

This is the final book in the Killer Instincts series!!  Kennedy has done a better job than most of the romantic suspense authors in giving me heart-pounding action, which includes aspects of their missions. We get details on the operatives skills and use of technology. There is more grit with people actually getting hurt or dying, not just fluffy glossing over of the operations. Midnight Target has two different romances happening. The main one is between Cate, Jim Morgan’s daughter and the “Rookie” operative, David Ashton. They have always been attracted but Jim Morgan was clearly against the relationship of his daughter with one of the team. Cate has had a rough go of things and […]

My friends told me to read this series and I finally came to the party a couple of years ago, listening to audio books while driving back and forth between Minnesota and North Carolina. I fell in love with Merit and Ethan. Strong women with hot guys trying to make the world a better place with their own sassy quirks are always welcome. Reading Blade Bound,  the final book in this series, I felt mostly sad. I couldn’t get past those feelings. The story felt nostalgic and almost too much like every other book in the Chicagoland Vampire series. Anything new happening, growth or learning by the characters,  had been foreshadowed in other books and expected. So there weren’t really any surprises. The BIG things […]

The Thing About Love by Julie James

The Thing About Love by Julie James

The Thing About Love is my second Julie James book but I have all of her books on my TBR. Especially her  FBI/US Attorney series. After reading The Thing About Love I had a feeling that Nick McCall, John’s boss was a possible main character in one of the books from that series. He is the hero of the book 2, A Lot Like Love so I will definitely be binge reading/listen to the series since I own all of them on audio. The Thing About Love is a great romance where the heroine, Jessica and the hero John have a past where they don’t really like each other. Six years ago they went through the FBI Academy where they had different ideas about their […]
