His rules. Her pleasure. His way.

Italian heiress and international financier Milla Castra knows she can't avoid him forever. Irredeemably hot and controlled Lex Duncan once shared her craving for things deliciously forbidden. He was her lover. Her Master. And the husband she's kept secret from everyone.

But Lex will never relinquish what's his---and Milla is definitely his. And he knows she can't resist the exquisite pleasure that awaits in his arms. When the violence of her past threatens them both, Lex will risk everything to keep Milla safe . . . before she submits to the cruelest master imaginable, Fear.

I loved getting introduced to Milla and Lex in the first book, Rule Breaker so I couldn’t wait to get their story. Their story was great!

Since we get the start of Lex and Mills’s story in Rule Breaker there will be a mild SPOILER AHEAD.

Lex and Mills have been secretly married for ten years. There has been a few people who knew of their relationship but only one person knew they were married. Why secretly? Milla has family issues, well really mommy issues. Her mother is a major bitch and because of some rules where the family business is considered Milla has to kept her marriage to Lex a secret in order to inherit her part of the business.

This is a big issue they deal with in Rule Master and it there’s been some conflict over the years that puts a hurt on their relationship among a few other issues. To add to the stress there are issues that Milla is dealing with from the events of her kidnapping from the first book. The kidnapping left her mentally damaged for a short time, keeping her and Lex apart (by her choice) for about 6 months.

Here’s where I almost dropped my rating from a 4 star to a 3 star. The back and forth these two did about “we love each other and need to be together” to “we can’t be together because I’m no good for you”. There was too much back and forth on if they would stay together. BUT the rest of the story and their romance was enough to help me over look some of the unnecessary angst.

Some of the danger from Ruler Breaker carried over to Rule Master so we got to see the characters from the previous story again and see a setup for the next book, Rule Changer (August 15th 2017).

I’m really glad I read Sienna Snow. She’s now earned a spot on my auto-read list for D/s romances. If you are into strong heroines, sexy Dom males, secret babies/marriages then the Rules of Engagement series will be up your alley.

About Sienna Snow

Indian-American author Sienna Snow is a supermom writer with two Bachelor’s degrees and two Masters under her belt.

Her trilogy of romantic fiction aims to shatter the stereotypes associated with weak female characters pervasive in romantic and erotic fiction today. Inspired by her years working in corporate America as a management consultant, Sienna has created a narrative around strong, successful business women who know what they want and exactly how to get it – without the need to seek support and praise from their male counterparts.

In fact, the heroines in her books are billionaires, but this time with female characters taking the lead role. The trilogy starts with Rule Breaker (Release November 1, 2016 by Hachette Group’s Forever Yours imprint).

From diverse backgrounds, the heroines are smart, well-educated women who choose to find love through atypical circumstances. Sienna has taken the stereotypical billionaire story and spun it on its head.

Read It, Track It is a way  to track books for my reading challenges and they will be super short. Rule Breaker is my introduction to Sienna Snow and I have to say it wasn’t a bad first meeting. Snow writes great strong female characters and sexy male counterparts.  Rule Breaker is a romance built around two characters that get a second chance at love but must go through some heart ache and deadly events to get their HEA and boy did they earn it! While Rule Breaker focused on a D/s relationship it wasn’t too heavy into kink that readers who don’t normally read the genre would be turned off. Snow’s writing grabbed me and had me starting the second book, Rule […]

This is the first book I ever received on Netgalley about 4 years ago. I can’t remember why I got it or why I didn’t read it. The COYER challenge got me to pick it up and read and review. Dex comes to an island which is like a small town with everyone knows everyone and is into their business. He is trying to solve the mysterious disappearance of a baby during the Prohibition. Maggie is an independent small business owner who has a charter business. She flies him to the island. Dex is attracted to her and sees her as a fun way to gather information quietly. Neither wants a relationship. Maggie is not willing to trust a man. Dex has […]

In just one day, Annie Anderson’s life turned sideways and then completely upside down when she comes home early, finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman. If that wasn’t sad enough, she ends up losing her new job on the first day. And yet it gets worse. When she goes away for a much needed excursion to a fabulous island with her friends, who shows up there but the cheating ex and his gorgeous arm candy.   As bad as Annie’s day from hell was, it was related in such a way that I couldn’t stop laughing. While my heart broke for her, Annie’s story is so cleverly written that I also found the humor in the situation. The escapades during the […]

So this was a surprise and a great one! I was out of sorts and this was exactly what I needed. A thought-provoking story which also snuck into my heart. Two very different people shutting themselves off from relationships to avoid getting hurt. Their situations and how they resolved them was smart and very believable. Zach is an EMT who takes care of everyone. Kiera is a graphics designer on the hottest LARP game on the market. They handle things very differently emotionally and in their style, which means they can learn a lot from each other. Learning about each other, they learn about themselves. And it’s awesome! I liked them both. They were strong and smart and caring and competent. I appreciate […]

I enjoyed this story so much more than the first book in the series! So very glad I decided to continue on.   Abraham (Bram) Evans certainly has his issues but at least he evolves through the story. He was adopted by the family that first fostered him and his twin brother at age six. Anita (Ani) Martin was also fostered by the same family but after Bram had left and was on his own. Their relationship could be described as acrimonious at best…until it wasn’t.   The thing I like most about all of the characters in this series are their authenticity. Bram and Anita aren’t always likable individually and most definitely as a couple. What they are is realistic, behaving more […]

Kate Evans and Rachel Anderson are best friends. Rachel is married to Shane, Kate’s former friend and crush. They have three children and one on the way. With Shane in the military and being deployed multiple times, Kate is Rachel’s support system and the children adore her. When Rachel is killed in a car accident, Kate steps up and becomes their surrogate mother. Unfortunately, that also puts her back with Shane and the feelings she’s had since high school.   This is a difficult book to rate because I despised Shane, needed Kate to get a spine and couldn’t abide their romance. But, I loved Kate’s relationship with those children and found this a compelling story with some very strong family themes. I […]

Kristen Callihan’s Darkest London series as been a 5-star ride for me from the beginning to the near end. While Forevermore wasn’t a 5-star for me it was pretty damn close. What kept if from the perfect rating? The additional of the whole series cast. I can see where some of the earlier characters needed to make an appearance but a few felt like they were just thrown in because the series was wrapping up and it was their last time to make a cameo. That’s my only complaint about Forevermore and the end of the Darkest London series by Callihan. I felt like St. John aka Sin and Layla lost a little page time to Archer and I’m not sure why Archer needed as much page […]
