Possessed by a need to save a beautiful Amazon warrior from the vision he witnessed, Loke snatched her from the midst of the battle between the Third and Fifth realm of the demons, and carried her to his home deep in the black mountains of Hell to protect her. But as the fierce little female awakens, he finds she’s anything but grateful, and his dragon instincts roar to life to warn she might be more to him than an enemy—she might be his fated female.

Anais remembers meeting a handsome warrior in the heat of battle, a man who was her enemy but who looked at her with eyes that held dark heat and wicked promises. When she wakes to find that same dragon shifter has taken her captive, desire is the last thing on her mind, but escaping him to return to Archangel, the hunter organisation she works for, sounds less than appealing when he reveals the reason he took her—to stop her from dying.

Can Loke protect Anais from the dangers of his realm and how far will he go to save her from the future he keeps witnessing? Can Anais resist the fierce attraction that burns between them as hot as fire and stay true to Archangel or will her heart be taken by the dragon?

I finally popped my dragon shifter cherry with Felicity Heaton’s Taken by a Dragon. I’ve been waiting for this book since book 2, Claimed by a Demon King where Loke grabs Anais from the battlefield.

I loved how Heaton took well-known dragon traits and included them in Loke as a human and dragon. And I really enjoyed the fact that Loke lets Anais know that there is no man and dragon, that he is both no matter what form he is in. Heaton helped give a visual picture of the man and dragon with the physical look of Loke. He has blue hair and wears blue leather pants when he is in human form, then when he shifts into his dragon form his has blue scales. There was one trait that kind of was creepy, the two rows of teeth. I think the second roll only showed when Loke was really upset/mad.

Loke is very endearing. He lives in hell and has no idea about modern technology. He doesn’t know what electricity is and it’s fun to watch Anais try to explain these things to him.

Fans of Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series will enjoy Heaton’s Eternal Mates series. Heaton weaves her characters’ timelines in a similar manner as Cole but on a smaller scale. You could read Taken by a Dragon after Claimed by a Demon King, but you would miss a little of the character references, but overall you’d be ok reading it sooner rather than later if you are new to the series.

I have one more book in the series to read to be caught up, Marked by an Assassin. I look forward to reading it and enjoying another couples’ HEA since we got a peek at the male in Taken by a Dragon. I wonder how many more books will be in the series since there was a hand full of new characters introduced towards the end of this installment. I love how the surly elf, Blue keeps making cameos. Do believe that Heaton threw us a bone about who his mate will be.

Bitten by a Hellcat by Felicity Heaton

I’ve been a fan of Felicity Heaton for a few years now, so I know she can pack a punch with a novella sized story. But I would have liked Bitten by a Hellcat to be a little longer so that Cait and Owen’s relationship to develop at a slower pace. It was a little to insta-love for me, the plot wrapped up too fast and neatly but there was enough heat between the pages to keep me warm while I read it in one sitting. A notable change that Bitten by a Hellcat brings to the Eternal Mates series is that the hero is the mortal and the heroine is the supe. Owen is a supe hunter and Cait is a hellcat in need […]

the plot Craved by an Alpha is about Cavanaugh, a snow leopard shifter that currently has the title of alpha of his pride but he doesn’t want it. He left his pride almost 5 years ago to lose the title (it’s a pride rule). Why doesn’t he want the title? He’s in love with his fated mate, Eloise but because of his alpha status they can’t be together. Eloise has been hunting for Cavanaugh for two years to bring him back to their pride because the current guy acting as alpha is a real douch canoe. the romance Cavanaugh and Eloise romance is both sweet and heated. He has known for nearly ten years that Eloise is his fated mate but kept it to himself since […]

Purrr! Hunted by a Jaguar by Felicity Heaton

Purrr! Hunted by a Jaguar by Felicity Heaton

I love the fact that roles are flipped between Iolanthe and Kyter in HUNTED BY A JAGUAR. In most paranormal romances when there’s a huge age gap it’s the guy that’s hundreds or even thousands years older than the woman. Iolanthe is around 2400 years old elf treasure hunter. Kyter is a few hundred years old half jaguar, half demon shifter. Kyter might be the jaguar but he makes a joke about her being a cougar. The males are usually the stronger of the two but Iolanthe can kick ass. Kyter’s no weenie but I’m not sure if he could take Iolanthe if they were to fight to the death. Another thing that’s flipped is that usually with the male being much older he is […]

More Dark than Sexy! Tempted by a Rogue Prince by Felicity Heaton

More Dark than Sexy! Tempted by a Rogue Prince by Felicity Heaton

WOW Vail is two parts Zsadist (BDB) and one part Uilleam MacRieve (IAD). Vail is the “mad elf prince” striking fear in all the paranormal world. But Vail is not “mad” by choice. He was driven to it over centuries of being under the spell of a dark witch. He was forced to kill people.  Much like Zsadist in the BDB series by J.R. Ward, Vail was sexually abused, well really he was repeatedly raped by the dark witch. It’s no wonder why Vail would hate all witches much like Uilleam MacRieve. They both hate witches because of how they were abused by one and both of their fated mates are witches. Vail has a severe case of PTSD. Any time he feels magic, sees […]

I really enjoyed book 1, Kissed by a Dark Prince in the new Eternal Mates series by Heaton but I LOVED the follow book, Claimed by a Demon King. Why? Let me list the things I loved … 1. Virgin hero 2. Kick ass heroine 3. SMOKING dreams shared between hero and heroine 4. Hotter than hell sex between hero and heroine 5. Snarky humor 6. Great lead characters 7. Awesome secondary characters We meant Throne and Sable in Kissed by a Dark Prince and by the ending it looked like Heaton was sitting us up for a love triangle between Throne, Sable and Bleu. Not true, so don’t let any dislike of that troupe stop you from reading Claimed by a Demon […]

Review: Kissed by a Dark Prince by Felicity Heaton

I’ve been a fan of Felicity Heaton since reading her VET (Vampire Erotic Theatre) series. She knows how to write sexy vampires and demons. Now she adds Elves to the stable of stallions. Heaton’s stallions has me saying giddy up every time and Prince Loren is no different. I found the mythology that Heaton used in Kissed by a Dark Prince to explain how vampires came from Elves was interesting and different from any other vampire lore I’ve read. Also there is a nice set up with the heroine, Olivia as a scientist working for Archangel, which is a human group that study’s the paranormal. Olivia’s best friend Sable is a hunter forArchangel. So you have a organization that studies vampires, demons and now Elves that […]

Interview with Prince Loren from Kissed by a Dark Prince by Felicity Heaton It’s great to be here at The Book Nympho today as part of the Kissed by a Dark Prince Book Tour celebrating the release of the first book in my new Eternal Mates series of paranormal romance novels. Today, I’m going to be interviewing Prince Loren, the hero of Kissed by a Dark Prince. But before we get to the main event, I want to introduce myself. I’m a British paranormal romance author and a USA Today best-seller. I have been writing since 2005, and went indie in 2006. I love to write big worlds, populated by vampires, shifters, demons, fae and angels, and I have several series. This tour is about […]
