The zombie apocalypse was Alexis Winter's first challenge. It won't be her last.

Life on S-Island hasn’t been easy, but Alexis and her fellow survivors are making the best of their new lives in a post-Z world. Every day is a struggle, a struggle to find food, to keep the zombies from their door and to prepare for anything this new world might throw at them. There is no room for heartache, there is no room for mourning the lost, there is only one focus: the fight for survival. And there is definitely no room for love. At least that is what Alexis keeps telling herself.

The second installment in the NOLA Zombie series by Gillian Zane. Be warned, there will be monsters, living and dead, there will be very intense sexy-time and there will be a third book.

After having some lukewarm feelings about Run, it took me a few months to get into the mood to try Fight. Boy, do I wish I hadn’t waited so long. Fight is where it’s at for the NOLA Zombie series! I didn’t have some of the same issues reading it as I did with Run. I didn’t get too attached to the characters but I was obsessed with them and the plot while reading Fight.

If it wasn’t for school reading and the need to sleep I would have read Fight in one sitting. I did stay up to 5 am the night/morning I started it. I was too sleepy to continue with my current audio book when I went to bed that night so I thought I’d try getting in a chapter or two of Fight.

So what was the differences between Run and Fight?

  • Character growth for the heroine
  • Less sex (but not heat!)
  • More plot (see above)
  • Love interest changed (kind-of; won’t say more so that I don’t spoil)
  • Cliffhanger (yes this was a good thing)

If it wasn’t for school reading and the need to sleep, I would have read Fight in one sitting. I did stay up to 5 am the night/morning I started it. I was too sleepy to continue with my current audio book when I went to bed that night so I thought I’d try getting in a chapter or two of Fight before I feel asleep. I kept telling myself “one more chapter” and the next thing I knew it was 5 am. Granted it was the Saturday that the clocks jumped ahead an hour but still. If I could have stayed away just 40 minutes longer I would have finished. But instead, I had to sleep and woke up 3 hours later to finish. LOL And I purchased Live (book 3) and the prequel, SHTF before I finished Fight.

If you’re looking for a romance with tons of sexual heat with a touch of doom and danger then the NOLA Zombie series is for you. Think if The Walking Dead had tons of sex in it. LOL

About Gillian Zane

Gillian Zane is the author of the NOLA Zombie series. Zane is the pen name of a prominent blogger in the publishing industry, which will remain a mystery unless you Google it. Since she can remember her goal has been to become Master of the Universe and has decided to focus first on the literary world. Things are progressing nicely.

Zane has been a freelance writer for the last ten years and has published a few non-fiction works, none of which was very exciting. Zombies are much more exciting and a way for her to combine her two current obsessions, hot boys with guns and Doomsday Prepping. When she isn’t stockpiling MREs (Meal’s Ready to Eat) or researching how to build a cistern on a budget, she’s taking care of her little family and exploring the city that she loves, New Orleans.

READ IT, TRACK IT IS A WAY FOR ME TO TRACK BOOKS FOR MY READING GOALS AND THEY WILL BE SUPER SHORT REVIEWS.   Run is an Erotic Romance by Gillian Zane with a zombie apocalypse in NOLA for it’s back drop. Don’t go in thinking you’re getting a horror story. Although there are a couple of scenes that might be hard on a few to read, especially if you’re not a fan of baby zombies. Run has just enough action and blood to keep your pulse pumping when it’s slowed down from the steamy scenes between Alexis and Blake (if the boats a rocking, don’t come a knocking). There was one sex scene I thought “don’t these characters know the rules we learn from Scream?!” Don’t have […]
