The stunning conclusion to the New York Times Bestseller.

These are the unbreakable rules in the game.
Stay collected. Compartmentalize. Think your next move through. Never let your heart dictate your tactics.

The heart is impulsive.
The heart makes bad decisions.
The heart doesn’t see the long game.

Because the heart may have decided to get Adam back, but when the endgame comes, the heart’s going to be the first thing to break.

WARNING: While I did not have an issue with it and I thought that Reiss handled the scene and characters with care, there is a scene between Adam and Diana that some readers may not be comfortable with. While I would not call it a simulated rape scene it does push the line that some readers may not want to experience.

CD Reiss never fails to leave me feeling emotionally drained and satisfied all at the same time. I have been waiting for Separation Games since I was 50% into Marriage Games.

Diana and Adam are two wonderfully broken people. They lived five years of marriage together never really being their true selves or the real couple they could have been. After Diana left Adam they both woke the fuck up.  After 30 days of pain, pleasure and heartache they finally know each other. They EARNED their  HEA. Their story gutted me, made me smile, cry and just had me in awe the whole time I was reading.

If you think Adam is this asshole Dome that likes to beat women because he was sexually abused, YOU ARE WRONG. If you think that Diana is a doormat or whiny little girl, YOU ARE WRONG. This story is not the same old run of the mill Fifty Shades kind of story. This is a married couple trying to find their way back to each other. Their pain is beautiful and eye opening. You do not have to be into kink of any kind to understand the real struggle Adam and Diana go through. They could be as vanilla as a Taylor Swift song and still have issues that a marriage can go through. The kink elements just elevate the emotions and let a reader like me safety experience how “other side” lives.

If you want some heart with your kink, love with your lust, submission with your power then you need to pick up a C.D. Reiss title and I highly recommend The Games Duet. It truly takes two books to tell this couple’s journey.

The only thing I missed this time around was the voices of Elena Wolfe and Sebastian York so of course, I will grab the audio of Separation Games at some point.

About C.D. Reiss

CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to try her hand at books.

She’s been nicknamed the “Shakespeare of Smut,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to chop a cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

C.D. Reiss is permanently on my auto-buy list and so is Sebastian York, listening to Marriage Games is no brainer! Marriage Games is told through both Adam and Diana’s POVs, with the first half of the book told from Adam’s POV while the second half switches to Diana’s POV.  switching back between Present Tense and Past Tense. Each chapter is labeled as Present Tense, Past Perfect, feeding off the flashback aspect and the literary aspect of the publishing business the couple own and run together. I love it when an audio book has switching POVs is performed by a male and female narrator. Elena Wolfe voices Diana’s POVs and her dialogue even in Adam’s POV. Sebastian York voices Adam’s POV and his dialogue during Diana’s […]
