Introducing the Justiss Alliance, an elite team of heroes out to do right. In Wild on You, one untamable SEAL meets a woman who handles the wildest sort of animals—until she herself becomes the hunted.

When Rick Yarbrough, aka Risk, a discharged SEAL with a taste for danger, joins the Justiss Alliance, his first assignment seems like a baby-sitting gig: He must guard an out-of-control general’s daughter. Then he meets his charge.

Addie Wunder is no baby. She’s a dedicated animal-rights activist who isn’t above breaking the law if innocent creatures are threatened. But her work has made her a lot of powerful enemies. If she doesn’t stop, she may just turn herself into an endangered species.

Risk’s mission is to keep Addie out of trouble. But as they grow closer, Addie becomes so much more than a job. And the more he has to lose, the more Risk is willing to put his own life on the line—for her cause, her safety, and her sweet-hot embrace.

Quick Summary

Rick “Risk” Yarbrough’s first assignment with The Justiss Alliance turns out to be a babysitting job…so he thinks. Addie Wunder, an animal rights activist and daughter of a five-star general, has made a few enemies. One of them means her harm so Dad is forcing bodyguard protection on her against her protests.

About Addie

She’s not completely convinced she’s in danger so she doesn’t roll out the welcome mat for Risk. Addie’s a knockout and she’s also very, very good at what she does. Her life is completely devoted to the animals and this attraction she’s feeling for the ex-Navy SEAL is an unwanted DIS-traction.

Romance and suspense

Despite starting with a bang and ending with a very exciting and tension filled climax, the balance leans more towards romance in this story. Risk has a wicked sense of humor that keeps things lively. Addie’s no slouch and matches him quip for quip.

Standout moment

There’s one scene that will always be memorable and it involves a little public hanky-panky. It was outstanding. You’ll have to read it for yourself.

The bottom line

I really enjoyed this story despite preferring a bit more suspense. The romance worked even when these two did the denial dance. The characters are appealing and the other Justiss Alliance teammates are a big draw. I’m still in with this series.

About Tina Wainscott

I’ve always loved the combination of suspenseful chills and romantic thrills. As of January 2014, I will have published fifteen romantic suspense novels, four romances for Harlequin, as well as ten paranormal romances as Jaime Rush. It was great fun to pull my out-of-print books from the shadows and re-issue them as e-books. But I also felt the itch to write romantic suspense again, and revive my Tina Wainscott name with new fiction. Losing my nephew, a Marine, in the war made me realize that our military men are really the perfect heroes. Not only during the war but afterward as they try to stitch their lives and souls together once they’re home. And so was born The Justiss Alliance, an agency where these men can find purpose, honor, and love outside the war zone.

As for hobbies and interests, besides the many aspects of writing (which consumes much of my time), I love being with friends and family, whom I cherish. I read (There’s a book or magazine on every flat surface in my house) and listen to spiritual books. I love swimming, kayaking, boating, autocrossing, and being in nature.

My beliefs are God, a positive attitude, living life to the fullest, doing unselfish things on a regular basis, small indulgences, believing in yourself, appreciating what you have, and no regrets.

May you find joy and hope in the books that you read!

This short novella introduces the former members of a Navy SEAL team and the mission that sidelined their career. There’s a chapter devoted to each member, giving a glimpse of their back stories. There’s still more to explore with each of them but what was provided was enough for me to get engaged. The team is given an opportunity to join a private security firm in Florida, focusing on assignments where justice needs to be served. The CEO of the firm is intriguing on his own, let alone the appeal of the kind of work he describes as their focus. I enjoyed this intro to the series. It was just enough to pique my interest and decide I want more of this team. I’m in. […]
