Audio Review: Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh

I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again, I really enjoy it when the couple has a history instead of falling in love/lust after only knowing each other for a day. Mine to Possess is the first combo of Changeling and human mating. Clay is a leopard that joined the DarkRiver pack after growing up away from other Changelings. He didn’t know anything about his animal side and it made his younger years hard. Tally is the human in the relationship and Clay thought her to be dead for about 20 years. Tally has been scared of Clay ever since the day he killed her foster-father but not in the way Clay thinks. Tally finds herself lusting after her childhood protector even after their 20 […]

“Old habits die hard for assassins. And I planned on murdering someone before the night was through. That’s what I did, me Gin Blanco, the assassin known as The Spider. I killed people, something that I was very, very good at.” Have I told you guys how much I LOVE this series? Well, I’m telling ya again. It’s on my top 5 list of Urban Fantasy series EVER. Since I don’t want to spoil you guys I’ll keep this review very short. Gin is back, kicking ass and taking names. Finn is back with his smart remarks and sexiness. Owen is back with his yummy self. Mab is back….. Donovan is still gone. YAY That’s all you’re getting from me. I can’t talk about this […]

Dark Needs at Night’s Edge is the 4th full-length book in Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series that is set in a world with all kinds of paranormal creatures from vampires and demons to werewolves and now ghosts. We meet the unlikely hero, Conrad in earlier books about his older brothers. Now we get to see what the missing younger Wroth brother has been up to……battling blood lust and becoming one of the most feared assassins in the lore (paranormal world). One thing that has pushed Conrad into the assassin jig is his hatred of vampires.  He has sworn to kill his brothers before killing himself. Not knowing his plan to wipe out the family; Conrad’s brothers kidnap him after their long search to […]

Audio Review: Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas

Audio Review: Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. Lisa Kleypas is now one of my favorite authors. She is a great way to ease into the Contemporary Romance world. I would have to say that Smooth Talking Stranger is tie with Blue-Eyed Devil as my favorite in the trilogy. One thing that sets the Travises trilogy apart from other romance books I’ve read is that the female leads are the ones that have the messed up pasts. And the men are the ones that “fix” the women. Oh sure the guys are alpha types but they have to learn to be a little softer to help out their women. Ella had a rough childhood being raised by a mother that was no mother at […]

It’s getting harder and harder not to spoil during these reviews but here I go…. Gin has stepped up her game on the take down Mab Monroe front. She is taking out Mab’s men left and right and now Mab has brought in Elektra, an out of town assassin, in hopes of taking out the Spider. The assassin’s name hints at her elemental power, electricity. And Gin gets a few shocks from Elektra. But have no fear, Gin is the still the baddest ass assassin in Ashland. With her ice magic becoming just as strong as her stone and she is learning that she just might have what it takes to finally take out old Mab. Gin and her gang (Finn, Jo-Jo, Sophia, Rosalind and […]

Review: Another Kind of Dead by Kelly Meding

Review: Another Kind of Dead by Kelly Meding

Dreg City is a great DARK urban fantasy series. I do mean DARK. Kelly Meding has no problem putting the heroine and other characters through hell and just like book 1 and 2, Another Kind of Dead is not full of rainbows and puppies. This time around we are dealing with a mad scientist that was responsible for the mutant creatures that Evy uncovered in a lab in As Lie the Dead and he has his eyes set on Evy. But Evy and her stable of close friends has very thing under control, she just has to go through hell and another near death experience to take down the bad guy (must be Tuesday). I feel like Evy is finally a whole person; she comes to grips […]

Review: Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas

Review: Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas

I am somewhat new to the contemporary world and Lisa Kleypas was a great place to start. Her writing just sucks me into the story and I feel everything that the characters feel. Blue-Eyed Devil made me cry like a baby. Haven went through so much hurt that I wanted to just give her a hug. Haven meets a sexy stranger at her brother’s wedding. They have a moment in the wine cellar then she returns to her boyfriend’s side, trying to forget the kiss she shared with the stranger. She later finds out that the stranger is Hardy Cates. The guy that has a history with her brother’s new wife and is a business enemy of her family. Haven forgets Hardy and marries her […]

Audio Review: Fair Game by Patricia Briggs

Audio Review: Fair Game by Patricia Briggs

Best book in the series so far! Fair Game had a bit different feel that the last two books since the POV included someone who was not Anna or Charles. The book actually starts out in the POV of a little girl that we later see as the grown FBI agent that Anna and Charles is partnered with to solve a serial killer case. There has been some time between the ending of Hunting Ground and Fair Game. Briggs doesn’t come out and give us an exact time frame but it’s at least around a year, maybe even more. Anna makes reference to it being several months since Charles has touched her and the events with the werewolves coming out to the public are parallel […]
