This series only gets better with each book! Dark Desires After Dusk it the 5th full length book in the Immoratals After Dark series by Kresley Cole, and like many paranormal romance series you COULD read this one without reading the earlier books BUT WHY WOULD you? This series is some much fun and you get to see other characters before and after they find their mate. And you would miss all the hilarious Valkyriev moments. So Dark Desires After Dusk is about a demon, Cade and a human Holly. Ever since Cade saw Holly he knew she was his mate but since she was only human he’s stayed away. Why? Because humans and demons cannot mate. The humans would not make it through the […]

Audio Review: Undead Sublet by Molly Harper

Audio Review: Undead Sublet by Molly Harper

I don’t do a lot of anthologies but when Audible.com offered up this Molly Harper short for FREE I grabbed it up since it was the only story I wanted to read in the anthology. Undead Sublet is a short story that takes place in Half Moon Hollow, the home town of Jane Jameson and if you are a fan of her series you should check out this story plus the other ones in the spin off series. And since Undead Sublet takes place in Jane’s town we get to see Jane and some of her friends while Tess is on sabbatical from her nervous breakdown from work. Tess rents a house from an overly perky lady in hopes of getting reason and relaxation […]

Audio Review: Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Audio Review: Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

This is my 3rd reread of Halfway to the Grave and this time around I checked out the audio from the library. The narration is good all but for Bones’ voice. I HATE it. When I first read Bones I pictured Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was the British accent and the bleached hair plus his cheeky humor. I’m so glad that I didn’t do my first read of this book on audio. Tavia Gilbert’s Bones would have killed him for me. Ok that is my only compliant. Let’s move on to the book review….. I first read Halfway to the Grave WAY before I started blogging so I decided it was time to write a review about it and all it’s glory. […]

Audio Review: Forever Buckhorn by Lori Foster

Audio Review: Forever Buckhorn by Lori Foster

Gabe I’ll start these reviews off by saying that I’ve enjoyed Isabelle Gordon’s narration job on this series. She does a great job with both the male and female voices. She has a husky yet silky voice that lends well to both genders. She also does a really nice country accent for the characters. I’m a little sad to see that the last book in the series about Swayer’s son will not on audio. But I will be reading it. Ok now on to the stories….. We’ve all read the story about the beauty and the geek or in this case the sexy country man and the geeky beauty. Lori Foster writes it with hot sexual tension with a touch of humor and one hell of […]

A fish called….Rachel. Rachel is floundering her way through life post IS. I am really surprised by the amount of humor in this series and we get a lot of it in the opening scene where Rachel is on her current job; to steal back a fish, a were team’s mascot. Rachel is learning that being on her own is not all rainbows. She’s still dealing with Ivy’s weird vampire emotions; never knowing if Ivy is going to kill her or vein rape her. Then there’s her consultant work with the FIB, where she’s helping in a serial killer case. But after messing things up on a murder scene Rachel goes from trying to nail Trent as the killer to working with him. Speaking […]

Audio Review: Poison Princess by Kresley Cole

Audio Review: Poison Princess by Kresley Cole

I not a huge fan of Young Adult books but I do enjoy one every once in a while and since I enjoy Cole’s adult series (Immortals After Dark) I wanted to give Poison Princess a try. HOLY FREAKING COW am I glad I did. It totally blows away her adult series. Cole knows how to write a post apocalyptic book and the YA elements didn’t really take away from the awesomeness of the world. Sure it starts out with kids in high school but once the Flash takes place the game changes. WTF is the Flash? It’s the event that changes the world. Driving the servers to live in a desert land with little food researches. Poison Princess starts out like many YA books […]

Audio Review: Buckhorn Beginnings by Lori Foster

I grabbed Buckhorn Beginnings on audio a few months back when it was on sale at audible.com and was saving it for a rainy day. So when I was starting to get a little burn out on all the UF books I’ve been reading and listening to I knew it was time to dust this one off. It was just want I needed. Not one but two sweet and sexy contemporary stories in one audio. Buckhorn Beginnings is my first Lori Foster experience and before I was halfway through it I ran over to audible and grabbed the next audio, Forever Buckhorn. I knew I had to hear the other sexy brothers’ stories. Foster knows how to write a sweet, emotional and sexy story. And […]

Audio Review: Blood Cross by Faith Hunter

Audio Review: Blood Cross by Faith Hunter

I’ve found another great Urban Fantasy series and narrator. I gave book one, Skinwalker an A+ rating and marked it as a favorite but Blood Cross only gets an A. It was just a little slower than Skinwalker but still a great book. When I say slower I mean the action/blood shield was a little slower. But the trade-off is that we get some sexy times. Jane gets hot and heavy with not just one guy but two guys in Blood Cross. George aka Bruiser, Leon’s human servant is the first to get kissy with Jane. And damn was he hot. I was rooting for him but as time went by Jane (and I) realize that it’s not meant to be with George…. at least not […]
